As you will already be aware, World Vision is a global enterprise working in close to 100 countries. We call it a 'Partnership', to refer to the working relationship between the different World Vision offices and entities around the world. We share together the ministry of bringing the good news of God's love to all people, and especially to children.
As you move into this new position, may I remind you of two of the most important things about World Vision: the standard of our work and the quality of our relationships.

World Vision International
This package has been sent to you because you have accepted to join the World Vision International team and we have received your signed contract. We are happy to say that you are now ready to begin your induction process!
You will be contacted by your Staffing Administrator who will walk you through the documents found in this package. This will take place no later than 3 business days after the receipt of this package. The call will be thorough and will require approximately 1 ½ hours of your time.
Certain documents in this package need to be completed, signed and returned by email to your Staffing Administrator within five (5) business days after receiving your induction call. This will be for your benefit as it will expedite your travel arrangements. We regret to inform you that if we do not receive your paperwork within 5 business days, there is a possibility that your start date may be delayed.

Health Assessment, Passports and Visas
Global Health Risk Assessment:
The Global Health Risk Assessment Programme is designed to evaluate your overall health by responding to a 35 question online questionnaire and then having our 3rd party, International SOS, evaluate your health with the specific location of the assignment and identify any areas of concerns or risks that might arise for your physical well being while on assignment.
You will receive (or have already received) a separate email from your Staffing Administrator with instructions on how to complete the Global Health Risk Assessment.
Passports and Visas:
As a new WVI employee, it is your personal responsibility to make certain that you have a valid passport. A valid passport is one that will not expire in the next 6 months. You will not be allowed to board an international flight with a passport that expires within 6 months. Moreover, if your passport is set to expire during your new assignment, please make the necessary arrangements to renew your passport while in your country of assignment.
In order to travel to your country of assignment, you may need to obtain a transit visa. A transit visa will allow you to travel through one country while on your way to another. Although your Staffing Administrator will assist you when he/she is able, you are responsible for obtaining the appropriate visas that will allow you to travel to your country of assignment. Please make sure that you book visa appointments immediately, as it may take a week or two for your appointments to be scheduled. You are also responsible for making certain that you have enough blank visa pages in your passport to obtain a visa.
Please use the official name printed on your passport for all travel documents. This will ensure smooth travels and avoid identity confusion at the airport.
World Vision International is committed to the welfare of children around the world and has agreed to abide by all World Vision policies concerning protection of children. In pursuit of this excellence, WVI requires your authorization for the verification of your background.
- Non-US Citizens: You will be required to provide us with a Police Clearance certificate of good conduct from your country of residence. Please note this is a condition of your employment. In order to obtain your Police Clearance Report, please check with your local police department regarding their procedures. Please make these arrangements as soon as possible. This will assist in avoiding any delays in your travel arrangements.
- US (and Canadian) Citizens: The Background Check form allows WVI to perform a mandatory background check for all US and Canadian citizens. Please fill out this form and email it back to your Staffing Administrator as soon as possible. This will assist in avoiding any delays in your travel arrangements.
Banking and Payroll
- Your salary will be deposited in your US bank account by the 7th of each month.
- If you already have a US bank account, please fill out the bank Direct Deposit Authorization form.
- If you do not already have a US bank account, please open one with the CCCU (Christian Community Credit Union) in order for your paychecks to be deposited. See instructions to open a CCCU bank account.
*Note: Opening a CCCU account as soon as possible will assist WVI in ensuring that your paycheck is deposited on time. The entire process, from the moment you contact CCCU to the moment you receive your checkbook, debit card, and pin number, will take several weeks. It is important that you initiate this process as soon as possible, in order that you may have access to your bank account and paychecks.
US Tax Payers:

*Note for US Tax Payers only: If the name on your passport does not match the name on your social security card, please use the name printed on your social security card for all banking forms. This is required by the U.S. Government in order to file your taxes. If you have had a recent name change please submit supporting documents to reflect this change.
Through our payroll provider, WVI is able to offer you online access to your paycheck statements and annual W-2. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please read the ADP iPay instructions to register.
Health and Welfare - Benefits
We are pleased to present CIGNA International Expatriate Benefits CIEB to administer your medical, prescription, dental, and vision plans.
Please be advised that CIGNA only allows you 30 days from your date of hire to enroll online for your WVI benefits at: www.yourbenefitschoices.com/wvi. You can enroll in the health plan for yourself and eligible dependents, choose your beneficiaries, and enroll in coverage. Please note that Choicelinx is not able to take international addresses at this point, so leave the address blank for beneficiaries (not a required field).
If you do not wish to enroll in benefits, we ask that you log on to Choicelinx and waive your benefits.
*Note: If you do not enroll in or waive WVI benefits within 30 days of your date of hire, only you, as the employee, will be covered by the WVI medical health plan, and the appropriate premium will be automatically deducted from your paycheck. Your dependents will not be covered for the current year, and your next opportunity to add eligible dependents, for the next calendar year, would be in November/December.

International SOS is your medical assistance company for both emergency and non-emergency situations when you are away from home. This document contains instructions on how to go online and obtain valuable information about your medical coverage.
