World Vision’s Emergency Response Roster is comprised of highly experienced and vetted humanitarian aid professionals available for short term, medium term, and long term emergency response assignments with World Vision. This roster allows World Vision to more rapidly identify and hire for key positions in its humanitarian response offices.

If selected, eligible applicants will first be fully vetted and then approved for the Emergency Response Roster. As vacancies arise in our humanitarian offices, roster members will be considered for employment opportunities.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements for all Emergency Response Roster Positions:

  • 5+ years of cross cultural humanitarian emergency experience outside of your home country.

  • Minimum 2 years experience serving successfully in fragile or unstable environments.

  • Experience directly managing staff during humanitarian emergency responses.

  • Ability to work long hours in stressful environments with a variety of skilled professionals.

  • Demonstrated management of budgets in emergency response settings.

  • Willing to serve unaccompanied; most likely in a team house setting.

  • English proficiency; written and verbal.

  • Grant Acquisition Management experience in your personalized expertise.

  • Strong track record in developing good working relationships with governmental institutions and multilateral agencies.

Job Profile

Carry out specific Finance and Support functions as guided by Field Leadership, ensure Key documents as required by WV Finance Manual are captured and filed for Compliance purpose. To give technical support to Field teams to process payments, as guided by Seniors, handle the processing of Staff advance & settlement functions using GEMS system, support Zonal Procurement Officer with Procurement process for field requirements, handle Invoice submission using ProVision system, ensure Field payments are delivered to Suppliers in field, adhere to directions given by Accountant/Zonal accountant who supervises the Project

Major Responsibilities

  • Ensure arithmetic accuracy & completeness of Transaction process in APs - Assist requestors to Check the accuracy of the invoice, purchase order, advances & GRNs process in Coupa & Gems Systems

  • Assist AP Manager and Zonal Accountant to carryout day to day finance activities to ensure smooth functioning of AP operations.

  • Accurate Finance Reports- Maintaining cash book & prepare Monthly bank reconciliations- Provide monthly reports received from ZA and share with AP teams.

  • Ensure Implement Internal Controls at the AP Level- Ensure fundamental Finance policies and procedures are in place as per the instruction given by supervisor.

  • Other responsibility as assigned by the Manager or Accountant.- Carry out other tasks assigned by the finance and AP manager

  • Filing and Documentation:- Filing/Labeling and documentation of vouchers and other related supporting documents in accordance with WVL Internal Policies and Procedures.

Education, Knowledge & Experience

  • Part qualifications in Finance/Accounting/AAT or equivalent OR GCE A/Level in Commerce stream with 3 years’ experience in a similar role

  • Understanding of the financial policy and guidelines that relate to WVL and its partnership offices

  • Experience in Finance/Accounting filed of 1 to 3 years

  • Fast learner with an aptitude for IT & able to work well in a computerized environment

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and demands

Assistant Accountant - Area Programme (AP) / Project

Location: Meegahakiula

Job Profile

Provide financial services to WVL Field Projects ensuring high quality, accuracy and consistent Financial support and oversee the financial function to achieve its optimal usage and the eventual reporting to WVL management and stakeholders. Ensure Payment process is smooth and day to day Financial operational procedures such as planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and Project closure and audit, etc. are conducted in timely manner and in line with WVL Policy and Procedure as well as Field Financial Manual (FFM).

Major Responsibilities

  1. Allocation of Project Funds

    Carry out day-to-day finance activities at the Area Programme (AP) under the supervision of Zonal Accountant and ensure smooth functioning of the AP activities including cash management and purchasing.

  2. Planning, Preparation and Monitoring of annual budgets

    Facilitate annual budgeting process and submission of annual budgets on a timely basis under the supervision of Zonal Accountant as per Leap 3 and regional/GC guidelines. Maintain budgetary records and details for audit checks.

  3. Operation of Internal Controls at the AP

    Maintain high level of Internal Control with the AP and adhere/implement audit recommendation. Staff Advance limits & due dates are strictly followed(GEMS processor role)

  4. Collaborating and networking

    Supervise finances at village level, including training of AP book-keepers / mobilizers /Community leaders

  5. Reporting and networking

    Ensure financial reports are prepared with professional competence as per the advise of Zonal Accountant and provide information to the Field Offices/WVL management and Local Government Authorities on a regular basis.

  6. Documentation and filing (Including asset administration at the projects)

    Provide support and supervision of asset

  7. Any other responsibility as assigned by the AP Manager

Required Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

  • Part qualification from recognized accounting body or, University degree in Finance

  • Minimum of 02 Years accounting experience managing in similar capacity independently.

  • Good working Skills and manage stress

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and demands

  • Work effectively with staff in a team-oriented environment with a positive, can-do attitude

  • Proficiency with MS office suite and other software applications

  • Understanding of the financial policy and guidelines that relate to WVL and its partnership offices

  • Knowledge of sun systems and financial management standards/procedures

  • Collaborate with various teams as necessary and identify and ensure that on critical financial areas are well managed independently.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

Coordinator - Water And Sanitation Hygiene (WASH)

Base Location – Colombo

Job Profile

Coordinator – WASH is responsible for National level coordination and assistance for different kind of WASH reporting processes. National/provincial level WASH activities, functions, forums, events and updating WASH sector landscape. Area Programmes, Zonal and National level WASH data feeding. Compilation, supporting and basic level information exploration including WASH related net research, which required for WASH resource acquisition or partnership concepts and proposals.

Major Responsibilities

  • Plan and implementation of WASH base funding project

  • Give support for the Global WASH reporting process

  • Give support in planning, implementing and monitoring the National WASH sector business plan

  • Coordinate with Zonal Technical and National DME and compile and feed the field level WASH information

  • Give support for WASH resource acquisition and forge partnerships

  • Give support to national/provincial level WASH related campaigns

  • Organize other relevant WASH partner meetings/events

Required Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

  • University Degree in Social Science or related

  • At least 2 years of experience in working in a Humanitarian/Development organization (Preferably in WASH sector)

  • Data handling and management experience preferred

  • Excellent communication skills
