Ensure that the organization’s public relation and advocacy activities are focused on the objectives of the National and Regional Strategies, giving World Vision a profile, authority and position within Albania & Kosovo that enables it to reach its programmatic and fundraising goals.To provide leadership to the Communications Team by prioritizing and managing day-to-day work while establishing and maintaining positive relationships with a variety of publics (media and non-media).


  • Lead and give strategic direction to the Communications Department and take responsibility for the organization’s communications activities and their relevance to the National and Regional strategy and objectives.

  • Be the organization’s lead expert on communications and the media and maintain and constantly update that expertise

  • Lead on developing and maintaining relations with external communications contacts including the medi

  • Member of the Senior Leadership Team of World Vision Albania & Kosovo to provide expertise relating to communications and Public Relations issues throughout the organization & partnership.

  • Lead the Communications team, give direction and structure and oversee standards and performance

  • Play an important role in regards to the advocacy aspect of World Vision Albania & Kosovo programManage and control expenditure in relation to Communications and Public Relations budget.

  • Carry out ad hoc duties which may be required to ensure World Vision maintains its effectiveness.

  • Be aware of the emergency procedures in a response and ensure that necessary preparedness measures have been implemented.


  • Master’s degree in media, communications & Public Relations preferably with significant exposure to human rights, development studies, or equivalent.

  • Good knowledge in media relationship, communications, networking, events, marketing and social research.

  • At least 5 years of experience in Public Relations and media relations;

  • Proven skills to draft communications strategies on behalf of international organizations, private sector.

  • Must possess a solid understanding of social inclusion and development issues;

  • Previous experience/familiarity with similar nonprofit agencies. (Preferred)

  • High proficiency in computer program skills.

  • Proficient in English – writing and speaking

  • Strong leader; ability to influence in a changing environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate in a cross-cultural environment.

  • Ability to work in a pressured environment with strict deadlines.

  • Self-motivated; able to work independently in a relatively unstructured but highly accountable environment.

  • Good people management skills.
