Grant Acquisition Lead for South Caucasus

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

This position is part of WV South Caucasus Strategy, Quality and Evidence (SQE) team. The main objectives of the SQE team’s role is to ensure evidence based high quality programming in Armenia and Georgia addressing the root causes of child vulnerability in the region.

The purpose of this position is to lead the Grant Acquisition for WV SC and support SQE Director strategizing the donor engagement and fundraising planning. In addition, this position will support and contribute to overall knowledge management and evidence building for improved programme quality.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead WV SC grants acquisition and donor engagement

  • Provide operational management and guidance to Grant Acquisition Officers.

  • Show personal commitment to lifelong learning whilst being a skilled developer of others.

  • Use appropriate leadership styles to support individuals and the team for continuous growth and development

  • Duly conduct performance planning and evaluation of the GA Officers.

  • Provide grant acquisition and DME-related capacity building for relevant WVSC staff.

  • Participate in planning for, compilation, and writing of the WV South Caucasus national strategy, operational plans, annual report and other periodical program documentation.

  • Compile documentation and information necessary to facilitate strategic planning in WVSC.

  • Support programme/project monitoring and evaluation

  • Other tasks as may be assigned by SQE Director

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training:

Education:

Bachelor Degree essential. MBA or equivalent preferred.

Knowledge & Skills:

Thorough understanding of the historical, cultural, political and socioeconomic situation in South Caucasus countries.

Strong analytical skills

Strong organization and delegation abilities; high performance, quality standards and negotiation skills;

Sound verbal and written communication skills in English

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team and cultural sensitivity

Facilitation and presentation skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Commitment to World Vision Core Values and Mission Statement and Agreement with World Vision’s Christian ethos

Proven knowledge of and skills for computer software application.

Knowledge of grant compliance procedures for major bilateral and multilateral donors

Engagement in project monitoring, evaluation and researches

Work Environment:

Should deal with information flow that needs fast processing;

Should be aware about the major trends and processes within WV South Caucasus and WV International;

Should be ready for internal and external travels for the minimum 30%of working time.

Experience:

Experience in proposal writing and donor engagement.

Experienced networker with an ability to maintain a good up to date knowledge of the grant opportunities and trends in the relevant sector.
