Information Technology Auditor
Grade Level: 15
Purpose of Position
This position will be a lead internal technical consultant and advisor to management within the region offices on the assessment of internal controls related to information technology. The person in this position is responsible for conducting and leading information systems audit work throughout West Africa Region (WAR) Offices including audits of complex computer applications and technological solutions. The incumbent is expected to operate with considerable independence within the scope of their assignments. This role interacts regularly with IT personnel at the executive level, necessitating a wide degree of creativity and latitude, in addition to well-developed interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Effectively complete audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting for information technology, information security, system and integrated audit engagements.
- Assess business / technology risks and the related controls and then provide practical, value-adding recommendation.
-Analyze evidence gathered and communicate findings and recommendations to appropriate management Directors through oral briefings during the Exit Conference and written reports.
- Prepare audit reports that accurately summarize the most significant control weaknesses and resulting impacts to the Organization.
-Lead or function as a team member to plan and implement IT audits based upon an understanding of the critical IT controls within the core process/area under review at the Partnership in accordance with IIA, and ISACA related Standards and use the Governance, Risk and Control system and the designed templates for assessing and evaluating the IT risk universe.
-Assist WAR teams in performing IT audit reviews; provide training, guidance and assistance in developing and deploying automated audit testing using relevant CAATs.
-Perform special projects as assigned by the GC IT Audit Director including assisting in regulatory audits related to information services, conducting training on audits and controls, and other tasks as assigned.
-Maintain Continuing Education (CPE) by attending online courses or professional seminars and trainings. The incumbent should maintain a minimum of 40 units/year
-Maintain an audit presence and history of audits per project/grant as needed based on available resources and use of GRC
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
-Technical professional certification required (CISA, CISSP, CISM or CRISC). CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) a plus.
-Bachelor's degree in management information systems, finance, accounting or equivalent combination of related work experience and education
-Maintain a current knowledge base of IT industry practices and to ensure best practices as always considered
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
-At least three (3) years of IT audit experience in public accounting or internal/external audit or WV experience in Information Technology.
-Experience in analyzing data and coding with specialized tools (MS SQL Server, ACL, TeamMate Analytics, IDEA, etc.).
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
-Exposure to various audit management and /or accounting systems
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Computer skills (office applications, accounting systems and IT audit tools like Nessus, Solar winds, etc. is a plus)
-Good English writing and communication skills
-Strategic thinker with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management skills
-Well-travelled and experience in dealing with cross cultures
-Working knowledge in the areas of: IT systems, information security, financial applications, Windows operating systems, software development lifecycle, data center operations, network security audits, internet and related technologies, general network technologies, ERP Systems and databases.
-Good understanding of non-profit industry.
-Knowledge of the WVI business and systems is an added advantage.
The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 40% of the time.
