Job Title : Regional Specialist – Education

Position Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to enhance the quality of the Education Program through proper technical guidance, backstopping, capacity building; acquisition of additional resources, networking and collaboration with stakeholders at regional level so that all children enjoy learning and maturing for their lives.

Key Objectives of the Position:

  1. Improve internal systems for quality Education program at DDP level

  2. Provide Technical guidance in the implementation of Technical programs and the Area Program.

  3. Contribute to further capacity enhancement of DDP, AP and Partner’s staff.

  4. Enhance the quality of the education program under the Regional Field Office.

  5. Provide technical assistance to DDP for additional resource acquisition.

  6. Enhance networking and collaboration with Local and Regional Government, NGOs and corporate Groups.

Job Description/ Responsibilities:

  • Have knowledge, understanding and experience in the management of integrated programs, demonstrate accomplishment in working with the ministries and leadership of the team which contributes to the smooth implementation of the education program in alignment with the WVB strategy, sectoral technical approach and technical programs.

  • Ready to take lead and predominantly provide technical guidance to the implementation of education technical programs/project in accordance with technical approach, supports for capacity enhancement of the programs level education specialist and officers liaison with other technical sectors for effective and accountable information exchange, (NO education personnel, program quality, accountability assurance.)

  • Have relevant networking skills to establish and maintain effective public-private-NGO/INGO linkage, collaboration at Regional level for technical resources and facilities.

  • Experienced in Team Leadership and facilitation skills for effective reporting, assessment, evaluations, communications, reviews, documentation and knowledge management.

  • Coordinate with the other Technical Team members, (Sponsorship, Advocacy, Justice & CP, Quality Impact Monitoring, Communications, HEA) in bringing synergy within the team.

Experience Requirements:

  • Essential – 5 years of extensive field Education experience.

  • Proven experience in Team Leadership and facilitation

  • Proven experience as a team player

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office computer programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Educational Requirements: Essential – Masters in Education

Additional Job Requirements:

  • The applicants should have experience in the following area(s): Program Officer/Manager, Project Coordinator/ Officer.

  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Development Agency, NGO

Job Nature: Full-time(45 hours per week)

Work Environment : Must be willing and able to travel nationally up to 16 weeks per annum.

Position Reports To : Senior Manager Program – Technical Support

Age : 30 to 45 year(s)

Salary Range : Negotiable
