Camp Coordination & Camp Mgt. Manager, Bangladesh Refugees



The position will be responsible for supervising camp coordination team and facilitators ensuring effective management of manpower resources for the implementation of camp coordination activities.


  • Supervise camp coordination team and facilitators ensuring effective management of manpower resources for the implementation of camp coordination activities.

  • Ensure completion of the CCM Project funded by IOM including review of all activities, targets are accomplish and required project documentations are updated and submitted.

  • Lead the completion of all site improvements activities as per project requirements.

  • Coordinate with IOM on specific donor requirement in the closing/transition or application of new grants c/o IOM.

  • Lead the proposal making for the Phase II project with IOM. Explore other funding opportunity with other actors like UNHCR on camp coordination.

  • Facilitate regulars interface meetings with other INGOs working in the camp to ensure coordination among actors and services being offered in the camp.

  • Develop the capacity of camp leaders through training, Focused Group discussions, peers sessions and dialogue sessions.

  • Ensuring that camp management feedback procedures and complaints mechanisms are in place, and forums are conducted for the camp population.

  • Ensure gaps in assistance to beneficiaries are filled and avoid duplication of activities by conducting regular and systematic monitoring of service delivery in the camp, drawing the attention of stakeholders and partners to overarching needs.

  • Identify and formalize roles and responsibilities between agencies providing services in the camp as a crucial function to addressing gaps and helping to avoid misunderstandings.

  • Update baseline information on the characteristics of the population to inform, additional assistance programmes and the effective coordination of distributions as per IOM requirements.

  • Provide in-puts in relevant document, reports as per requirement of the donor and in the development of the project proposals.

  • Perform other duties as required.


  • Degree in a field of study that offers a comprehensive view of community organization, planning and design (e.g. Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning or a related field) and/or Social Sciences (e.g. Humanitarian Affairs,

  • Development Studies, Political Science, or a related field), or the equivalent combination of camp management and humanitarian experience in a related area.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant (international) job experience of which a minimum of 2 years of field experience, including in coordination role.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Demonstrated field experience working in camps or other communal settings.

  • Practical knowledge of the cluster approach.

  • Strong interest and motivation in inter-agency coordination.

  • Experience with strategic planning, funding mobilization and advocacy.

  • Demonstrated understanding of emergency programming, needs assessment and programme monitoring.

  • Solid analytical and drafting skills.

  • Flexibility, diplomacy, leadership, cultural sensitivity and team-spirit are important personal features.

Work Environment/Travel:

  • Willingness to travel and work extensively - sometimes at short notice, in difficult places and under long hours - according to a results-based approach.
