PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Gender Based Violence (GBV) Advisor will provide the technical support to the implementation of the cross-sectorial. The GBV Advisor will ensure that interventions are technically sound, take into account best practices, and are appropriately meeting the needs of adolescent girls and women in the targeted Refugees sites.
The GBV Advisor will report to the Child Protection and Protection Lead, but will work closely with all other Sector Leads and Project Managers to ensure the elements of their programs that align with GBV plan.
Support implementation of Response Strategy activities across sectors.
Lead the development of the strategy for the GBV response to the Rohingya crisis in Cox’s Bazar.
Support partners and key actors to adopt internationally recognized best practices, proven tools, methodologies on GBV, working collaboratively to ensure their relevance for the context and successful implementation.
Provide technical support to ensure program quality, inclusive of regular technical monitoring of case management and PSS services under the program.
Build capacity of WV staff and local partners to ensure a reliable M&E system for better GBV data management, and ethical GBV data collection and information management.
Develop and conduct / facilitate trainings for partners and WV staff on relevant GBV topics such as GBV Core concepts, PSS, PFA, case management and caring for child survivors.
Provide technical support on the design of services and activities in the women safe spaces and support WV staff and partner organizations through training and monitoring.
Ensure field concerns and challenges are brought to relevant stakeholders to push for standards and procedures that systematize how GBV is implemented and coordinated at the field level.
Regularly attend GBV sub-cluster meetings at appropriate levels to feed in WV priorities from the field.
Provide technical leadership on GBV prevention and response programming, supporting and empowering partners and WV staff to creative, effective and comprehensive programming.
Perform other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Must have at least a Bachelor or Master’s degree in relevant field.
At least 5 years of practical experience in humanitarian related work.
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership, people management, coaching, mentoring, and team building skills.
Strong problem identification, analytical and solving skills.
Strong competency in proposal & report writing, monitoring and budgeting skills.
Experience working with communities and local governments, INGOs, donors and other key internal and external stakeholders.

Travel: 20 % Domestic/international travel may be required.
