P&C Specialist - CER - WVB

World Vision Bangladesh (WVB), is an established international Christian humanitarian development and advocacy organization, dedicated to the wellbeing of children, especially the most vulnerable children, their families and communities. WVB is now looking for a competent Regional People & Culture Specialistfor Central Eastern Region, to support in HR issues for the area programs under Dhaka, Chittagong & Sylhet administrative division. This position will be reportable to Regional People & Culture Business Partner and be responsible to work from Dhaka.

Position Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to work proactively with Regional People & Culture Business Partner in Talent acquisition, Change management, Learning & development, Integrated HR services, Employee relations, Grievance management and Staff care issues, with efficiency as directed under HR policy, procedure & practice of World Vision Bangladesh

Position key responsibilities

  1. Maintain and updates the personnel records, related to hiring, transferring, promoting, training, separation and performance appraisal etc.

  2. Interpret HR policies, procedures, and standards to new and existing staff.

  3. Process all personnel requisition forms, employee training requisition forms and ensure proper approval.

  4. Aware the new and existing staff on Gender Policy, CPP & Behavioral protocol, OP, Occupational stress management and Change management etc.

  5. Assist P&C Business Partner specially on following areas;

  • To coordinate job posts, review resumes, coordinate interview panel members, perform reference checks, offer & negotiation, new staff orientation and update HRIS.

  • To identify and collect training needs, organize and monitor training calendar for staff and coordinate the young talent development program as directed.

  • To address any employment relations, staff care and gender issues, such as work complaints, conflict, harassment allegations, peer support, social media crisis and gender discrimination at workplace etc.

  • To guide the line managers for conducting performance agreement, review & appraisal appropriately and finally consolidated the performance scores efficiently for review.

  • To provide information for preparing payroll, full & final settlement, Issue staff ID card, Metlife Alico benefits and update HRIS.

  • To organize big events as such service award celebration, pre-christmas program, day of prayer and staff retreat etc.

Required competencies and skills

  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.

  • Previous skills in administering Training, Hiring and HR services.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Have problem solving, negotiation, time management and collaborative skills.

  • Ability to tolerate ambiguity in change management process.

  • Have good communication, facilitation and influencing skills.

  • Ability to operate Computers and office software packages (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point) and Web based management systems etc.

  • Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability.

  • Treats all people fairly without favoritism.

  • Able to write and speak in English.

Required education

BBA /MBA in Human Recourse Management and/or Post Graduate Diploma in Human Recourse Management or Related field.

Required knowledge

  • Understand WV operation at program level

  • Understand the vision, mission of World Vision

  • Understand the Humanitarian industry

  • Understand HR issues and change management.

Required experiences

  • At least 3- 5 years’ work experience in staff development or related fields, in a local/ international organization preferably in NGO context.

  • Proven experience in facilitation and conflict negotiation

  • Proven experience as a team player

  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and experience in handling of web based management systems.
