Position Purpose

Coordinate the NO strategy execution process, including monitoring of progress. Facilitate the process of design and reporting with strategy execution individual goal owners. This position also will support Strategy Management & Government Alignment to ensure our strategy revision and roll-out is done well, especially with the new emphasis on Government engagement.

Key Objectives of the Position

  • To provide leadership and facilitate the organizational process of Strategy Planning and Management across all entities within WV Bangladesh office to ensure the alignment of National Office with Global and Regional Offices.

  • Enhance synergies among WVB Region, WV NO, SOs, Global Centre and all relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensure NO budget is aligned with NO strategy

  • Provide support to Strategy Management & Government Alignment

  • Facilitate strategy development and annual business planning;

  • Aligning country strategy with regional & partnership strategy and the development priorities of the Government of the Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh;

  • Cascading National Office strategy down to all levels of organization to ensure buy-in and proper execution;

  • Facilitate the completion of indicator scorecards including the indicator definition;

  • Review KPIs and their scorecards to make sure these are relevant and updated;

  • Map strategic initiatives and make sure goal owners are reporting through MMR;

  • Facilitate development and or revision of Country Strategy to maintain relevance, challenge frontiers and lead market;

  • Ensure National Office (NO) is on track with LEAP 3 roll out and ensure this is captured in the NO strategy processes;

  • Ensure NO strategy is aligned with GoB next five year plan at all levels;

  • Ensure annual investment plans (both development and non-development) are aligned with priorities of the strategy.

Facilitate the process of strategy monitoring and evaluation

  • Facilitate the process of strategy monitoring and evaluation:

  • Develop necessary tools that can help capture update from different departments for the purpose of reporting on strategy execution including mapping and monitoring strategic initiatives contributing to each KPI;

  • Work with individual strategy goal owners to update annual business plans and MYPB tool;

  • Consolidate input from different stakeholders and analyze progress using MS tools;

  • Monitor, control, evaluate and report the implementation of national strategy and business plans;

  • Develop regular reports for various committees;

  • Liaise with South Asia Pacific Office's Strategy Management Team to align NO strategy with regional and global center strategies.

Networking and coordination with key stakeholders

  • Facilitate and coordinate efforts with Regional Field Directors & NO department heads to assist them to monitor their progress towards strategic goals and strategic initiatives;

  • Extend technical expertise to DDMPs/RFDs in the process of aligning district development plans with Regional Development plans and priorities at District level with relevant government agencies;

  • Provide strategic information to National Director and other members of SMT;

  • Analysis of MMR from department heads and Regional Field Directors to ensure regular tracking of strategy execution;

  • Prepare quarterly reports for SMRD Standing Committee and Executive SMT; and (semi) annual analysis to South Asia and Pacific Office reports.

Bachelor degree in development studies or human rights or international relations or political science, or related field
