Position Purpose

Facilitate and implement the WASH related interventions of the project and assist in completion of project goals to ensure high level of community participation and ownership in all union parishads under Gowainghat upazila. This position is also responsible for setting up beneficiary criteria and leads the beneficiary selection process. S/He is also responsible for building capacity of the existing WASH committees in the community.

S/He is responsible to support facilitators to mobilise the community and also technical oversights and ground support for conducting baseline survey. Position is also responsible for drafting reports as per the requirements of MOFA, Japan and WV; and S/He will report to the WASH Coordinator.

S/He is responsible for supporting WASH Coordinator to achieve goal, objectives and outputs of the project at the community level. Networking and linkage is one of important responsibilities for the position to build up rapport within the community.

S/He is responsible for implementing project interventions through community level volunteers. This position will also supervise community Facilitators and Engineers those who are not regular full time staff members.

Key Objectives of the Position

  • Implement project interventions according to Project Proposal budget and DIP of the project.

  • Strengthene the capacity of community leaders, CBOs, Child Forum, SMC, group members and community volunteers to support community WASHinterventions

  • Facilitate to develop beneficiaries selection criteria and select appropriate beneficiaries

  • Prepare site selection criteria for water point and community latrine discussion with relevant stakeholders

  • MOU sign for community base water point and community latrine

  • Form & strengthen different committee like WATSAN community, Pregnant mother support group

  • Train WASH volunteers and conduct education session at beneficiaries level

  • Distribute IEC material among appropriate beneficiaries and conduct social mobilization

  • Design & implement campaign, day observation etc

  • Conduct PRA for beneficiaries selection

  • Ensured WVB policies and procedures in program spending and budget monitoring.

Community WASH Volunteer facilitation and capacity building

  • Facilitate to select community base WASH facilitators

  • Assisted to sign MoU/ToR with hired community WASH volunteers in consultation with the stakeholders

  • Facilitate capacity building of community WASH volunteers by coaching, training, workshop, and orientation.

  • Supervise and monitore the community volunteersfield work in program implementation services.

Networking and Advocacy

  • Establish and maintained networking and linkages with relevant GO/NGOs and other stakeholders at the community level.

  • Ensure in establishing relationship with the community and organize meeting with a cross section of community for social mobilization, promotion of health and hygienic awareness

  • Arrange meeting, seminar, workshop with committees and other stakeholders

Reporting and documentation

  • Generate quality data from the field activities

  • Quality report preparation & submitted in time.

  • Monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual report generated in accordance with Donor compliance format.

  • Preparation of case study and success story on a quarterly basis.

  • All reports and records are properly documented and shared with relevant people

75% field visit in the working area is expected
