Strategy Specialist

Background:

World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. The Latin America & the Caribbean Regional Office (LACRO) provides oversight to 14 National Offices where World Visions focus is predominantly programmatic implementation.

The Regional Office strategy role is monitoring fulfillment and alignment of National Strategies (goals and objectives) Global Strategy (OP2030), collaborating with National Offices and Regional team. To perform monitor and to support progress, RO must organize, update and analyze data referred directly to impact.

Purpose of the position:

  1. Provide technical support in the monitoring of National Office strategies realization.

  2. Support Connection between Global, regional and National initiatives to design or test tools to make the design of national strategies more agile and efficient.

  3. Produce programming forecasting and technical analysis to support decision process.

  4. Design, systematization and follow-up of a robust set up information processes engagement diverse players.

  5. Design and implement information sharing mechanisms

  6. Provide Coordination support to Impact team (budget, staff management, etc.)

Leadership

  1. Advise and support the IMPACT-X Director, as well as other members of the regional and national teams on matters related to Impact, relevance vis-a-vi national strategy implementation to OP 2030 contribution, of sound business goals, objectives & plans

  2. Advice and support the IMPACT-X Director, as well as other members of the regional and national teams on strategic resource allocation analysis.

  3. Support the IMPACT-X in the development and testing of models, tools and procedures for strategic resource allocation.

  4. Provide quantitative analytical support as needed to assess alignment of resource allocation against agreed priorities and funding levels.

  5. Coordinate the timely implementation of IMPACT-X strategic and business plans in support of and in alignment with global strategy and priorities.

Technical Support

  1. to the development of a set of uniform process, tools, procedures and guidelines relating to Strategy Management and provide leadership in contextualizing and mainstreaming these within the region.

  2. Analyze e and advice and act as a sounding board for regional leadership and management on organizational performance effectiveness based on data driven information.

  3. Support the availability of accurate and timely statistics in order to ensure OP2030 recommendations adequately represent the priorities and needs of the LACR.

Operational Support

  1. Support the IMPACT-X team to facilitate the work of the regional strategy management working group.

  2. Ensure that all key stakeholders are engaged in strategy formulation and management.

  3. Co-Design and Monitor regional goals and objectives ensuring that they are being achieved within targeted schedules.

  4. Support and monitor the alignment of NO’s Indicators Dashboards to regional and partnership monitoring framework

  5. Support Impact-X leadership in team management (Budget and staff)

  6. Carry out additional responsibilities and projects as assigned by the IMPACT-X Director, including administrative and technical functions.

  1. Support capacity building initiatives ensuring alignment with OP2030

  2. Analyze performance gaps and recommend interventions for increased effectiveness, synergy and alignment

  1. Facilitate the documentation and Encourage mutual data-based learning between National Offices within the LACR

  2. Contribute to the establishment and use of regional databases and e-resources promoting learning.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the job training:

  • Minimum Qualification required:Degree in Economics, Business, International Affairs or PublicAdministration, or any related field.

  • Experience:2-5 years

  • 2-5 years (not more than that) hands on experience in applying business strategy and management frameworks, concepts and methodologies.
