Grants Coordinator_Food Aid Tubeho Neza Project

The Grants Coordinator will assist the Food Security Manager in the designing, implementation and monitoring of cash Based Program in World Vision Burundi, food and resilience projects, ensuring that objectives are met through the effective and efficient implementation of cash based program, conditional and unconditional cash grants, food programming and other initiatives as well as capacity building support to World Vision staff and its local NGO Partners.

To maintain overall oversight of all cash transfer elements of the Program, ensuring targets are met.

Cash planned is distributed to the planned beneficiaries


Continuously assess and strengthening Cash/food transfer systems and approaches utilizing experience and lessons learned from previous Cash Transfer interventions in World Vision

The cash transfer project reaches its overall goal


Ensure problems arising are quickly resolved to maintain program progress, and experience gained is properly documented.

Smooth project closeout and good practices contribute to other program implementation


Build the capacity of World Vision and partner staff to implement cash/food programs in a technically appropriate way through knowledge transfer, training, development of good practice, evidence based research.

The project is well implemented by motivated staff


Support in developing and reviewing proposals submitted by World Vision to different donors

Attend partner progress and review events and contribute to future programmatic priorities.

Carry out monitoring field visits and support the cash/food Project team in adhering to compliance

Work done according to donor standards and guidelines


Ensure that the project pass all audits with minimum risk as well as making follow-ups on the issues that would have been raised.

Improved donor relationships that could attract more funding


Support and assist the Food security Manager on sector specific subject for developing proposals, guidelines, and strategies.

Facilitate the capturing of learnings and feedbacks

Improved Cash based response.


Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:

  1. University degree in economics, agriculture, social sciences, community development

  2. Proven organizational planning and managerial skills

  3. Demonstrate ability in the design and effective use of training materials

  4. In-depth knowledge of community development

  5. Report writing skills and computer knowledge

List additional work experience required as a minimum qualification for this position.

  1. Exposure to food aid and cash transfer programs (minimum 3 years).

License, registration, or certification required to perform this position:

  1. Very good in written and spoken English

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  1. Knowledge of commodities & logistics operations, preferably within WV context, specifically those that relate to food distributions, warehousing, reporting, tracking, monitoring etc.

List additional work experience preferred for this position.

  1. Conversant with E U and DMT requirements

Work Environment:

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.
