Assistant Accountant Maternal and Child Enhancement Project

PURPOSE OF POSITION
Support the Senior Accountant in implementation of the maternal and child nutrition enhancement project financial processes as per WV policies, donor standards and procedures to attain quality program.
(Accountabilities and results)
End Results expected
-Project requisitions are paid based to approved budgets
-Approved budgets are printed and filed
-petty cash analysis statements and cash count certificates prepared on monthly basis
-FFR Minutes are printed and filed
-Project Monthly Action Plans elaborated and implemented
- All required financial documents are submitted to the senior accountant during the internal and external audits.
-One project MWARAP supported
- All transactions in line with established internal controls and donor requirements are prepared
-All stores receipt and issue notes prepared
--All store records updated
Monthly store reports prepared and submitted to the Senior Accountant
Cash management is done In line with the policy
-Staff and stakeholders are paid in timely Manner
-Staff and suppliers are paid in timely Manner
-All financial transactions are well filed
-Payments are done I line with the policy
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:
Minimum Qualification required: Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum 2 years’ experience as assistant accountant in an INGO and minimum 2 years’ experience as assistant accountant for a WB funded project
Good in written and spoken English and French
Very good computer skills in Excel & Sun-systems software.
Work environment: field based with frequent travel to project sites and to Head Office
Travel: 10% Domestic travel is required.
On call: 10%
