Section I – JOB DESCRIPTION/PUBLICATION TEXT

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Purpose of this Position is to lead the implementation of nutrition interventions, to manage and supervise the operations by coordinating the project implementation, monitoring and evaluation in the assigned province.

In order to successfully do so, the Provincial Project Coordinator must be able to effectively communicate World Vision’s Christian ethics and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that serves as an example to others.

Coordinate and supervise the implementation of Nutrition interventions as per the approved budgets, scope & timeline at province level

  • DIP developed & shared with all project staff

  • 95 % of planned budget is timely spent in accordance with the timeline and scope.

  • Key indicators(stunting wasting and Underweight) in nutrition sector followed

Ensure that all recruited staff and partners are trained and oriented on project approaches and activities, reporting tools & documentation.

-staff and Partners trained on project approaches and reporting tools ,

-100 % of activities are timely implemented

-Approaches used (FARN, IYCF,PSG ect..) under the project are correctly implemented with high quality standards

-Lessons learnt documented and shared

-100 % of planned outputs per month are achieved according to donor requirements.

Provide on- job mentoring and coaching for project staff for a timely implementation of project activities at provincial level

  • Field visits carried out for supportive supervision

  • Review Meetings organized to evaluate the progress of nutrition interventions

Provide adequate supervision of planned studies (baseline and project evaluation surveys) and supervise the M&E staff in close collaboration with other external partners at provincial level.

  • Project evaluation and lessons learnt events are initiated and conducted, and final project reports shared with partners.

Monitor the use of business process implementation of Tubeho neza project to ensure that the program is aligned with WV, donor and other relevant standards;

  • Business cases developed, shared and approved

  • Project Monitoring data updated

Participate in the institutional learning initiatives for the establishment of efficient information systems.

1.Major risks are monitored shared on quarterly basics and tentative solutions are found and implemented

Establish strategic networks/partnerships at local and provincial levels, with public and private institutions, research institutions, civil society organizations, CBOs and other key stakeholders, to promote synergy and complementarity in the project implementation

-MoU established with Government Technical Services

Organize and facilitate quarterly project coordination meetings at province level and participate in the national coordination and project learning forums

-Coordination meetings carried out at Provincial Level

Represent WVB in provincial and national meetings, workshops and nutrition forums.

-Number of meetings participated in and Minutes filed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:

  • Minimum Qualification required: Bachelor in Public Health or in Human Nutrition and dietetics

  • Experience: 5 years managing a nutrition and health program/Projects and or Integrated Food and Nutrition Security Program in an international NGO or UN Agencies.

  • Preferred: - Bachelor degree in Public Health with 5years’ experience in implementation of nutrition projects

  • Working experience in community development and emergency Settings

  1. Experience in managing a project funded by World Bank, EU, USAID , WFP,etc… (minimum 2

License, registration, or certification required to perform this position:

  1. Very good in written and spoken English and French

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  1. Excellent project management skills and good understanding of the project life cycle

  2. Excellent understanding of best practices in nutrition and community development

  3. Experience with development project management tools such as log frames, monitoring and evaluation tools and budgets.

  4. Excellent supervision skills, including training, mentoring and supporting staff

  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report-writing and formal communication skills.

  6. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and Lotus Notes (or another main email system such as Microsoft Outlook)

List additional work experience preferred for this position.

.Experience in managing a Multi –sectoral project ( 1 year)

Work Environment:

  • Domestic Travel: Regular internal travel to project areas is required.

  • International Travel: Periodic international travel will be required

  • On call: As required.
