DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

World Vision is an international Christian Humanitarian Organization working with the poor and oppressed to promote human transformation and seek justice. Our Cambodia Office is seeking for one (01) qualified candidate(s) to fill the vacant position of:

Position: DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Salary & Benefit Package: Dependent on professional experience and qualifications

I. THE PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Purpose of position

Lead World Vision’s efforts to increase the overall influence, income and impact of the ministry in Cambodia. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, provide strong strategic marketing and communications direction for the organization. Lead in the development and implementation of an integrated strategy for the building of a high-performance marketing and communications function that is managed, structured, focused and staffed for productive and quality work. This strategy will identify the key marketing and communications needs of World Vision, while setting and steering strategic marketing and communications goals and processes that are contextualized to and in alignment with its core ministry functions and goals.

II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Diversity of Income is increased

  • National Funding Strategy is developed and subsequent operating implications are realised to ensure an efficient and integrated framework exists, providing overall leadership and ownership of all income streams into the national office

  • A high performing marketing function is increasingly able to raise local sources of funding to better and more sustainably support the ministry World Vision

  • Income targets are met and exceeded

  • New products are developed and refined to continuously engage and gain support from private individuals and corporate

A communicative culture across the organisation is strengthened through senior leadership and executive engagement

  • Context-driven communications strategy and associated business planning that supports organizational strategy execution is developed and implemented

  • Active member of the Senior Leadership Team providing advice and support to the National Director as a marketing, communications, and organizational leader

  • Ensures senior and cross-functional teams have broad understanding of how communications integrates with and strengthens organizational strategy, programming, operations, resource acquisition, and support functions.

  • Provides spiritual leadership and input to the organisation and guidance to the marketing and communications department

  • Staff across the organisation are increasingly engaged and inspired, mobilized for strategy, ministry execution, and impact

Reputation and Influence is increased

  • World Vision is positioned in mainstream and social media to mobilize public support for supporter engagement, social and policy change

  • Public-Community connections are built and fostered through evidence-based content developed for resource generation, public relations and engagement, sponsorship transformation and ministry

Communications & Marketing Department is lead and managed for increased performance

  • High performance of the team is ensured through the leading of goal setting, prioritization, process management, and relationship management

III. REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Media, Journalism, Arts or similar

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Thorough knowledge of the marketing, communication, and media industry

  • Thorough knowledge of international development, World Vision development practice, and marketing and communications needs

  • 9 years experience leading and managing marketing and or communications teams in international NGOs, business, or creative industries

  • Demonstrated experience managing corporate partnerships and developing major donor relationships

  • Advanced technical skills in at least one or more of the major areas of the job, such as market product development, CRM, video production, journalism, etc

  • Proven experience of training and capacity building of others

  • Advanced level of computer proficiency, Mac and PC
