PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to lead the groundbreaking program of content, data and digital connection related projects that enables the digital transformation of World Vision’s sponsor experience. The Senior Program Manager plays a vital role in leading the innovation and improvements that are required to revitalise World Vision’s child sponsorship and to leapfrog the sponsor experience providing strategic leadership and accountable program and project management on the delivery of the WV Child Sponsorship Content, Data and Capability Roadmap for 2020-2022. The Roadmap is a multi-year, end to end program of more than 50 innovation & improvement projects that will enhance and digitalise the sponsor experience. The program serves customers at both ends of the sponsorship spectrum: sponsors and WV staff at the fundraising markets and sponsored children, their families and WV staff in the developing communities.
The Senior Program Manager will work within one of the key global strategic initiatives and will be an important contributor to World Vision’s strategy realization. The role reports to the Director, Project Office and works with a team of business leads, several consultants both directly and in matrix, global and local peers and stakeholders across the organisation and external partners involved in the program. The right person will be fully committed to owning, leading, managing, tracking, reporting and completing the cutting-edge program of child sponsorship content, data and digital connection related projects across the complex global organisation of World Vision.

Strategic and Financial Planning, Management and Reporting:
Provides strategic advice and leadership support to the Sponsor Experience and Child Sponsorship Content functions.
For the Child Sponsorship Content, Data and Capability Roadmap, leads strategic planning of the program approach, required processes, timelines, resourcing and stakeholder engagement.
Leads the strategic planning of the program based on the CS Content, Data & Capability Roadmap, individual projects and associated financial plans with plans for regular tracking and reporting.
Maps the high level timelines, milestones and deliverables across the program, their interdependencies and dependencies for management and executive review, guidance and action.
Provides financial and management reporting to support delivery and accountability against established goals.
Leads planning and implementation of change management processes across global and local stakeholders.
Leads development and adoption of a communications plan for the Program.
Management, Delivery and Tracking of the Program:
Effectively and efficiently completes all Child & Program Data and Digital Connection related Capability Releases to enable Sponsor Experience Leapfrog and all Child Sponsorship Content and Feature Improvements to enable the enhanced Sponsor Experience. Every aspect of this complex set of projects falls under the responsibility of this role.
Directs and manages the Program plan on a daily basis for the implementation, delivery and ongoing development and adaptation of the Child Sponsorship Content, Data and Capability Roadmap across all stakeholders.
On a daily basis, tracks and documents the status, risks/issues/escalations, percentage completion and overall delivery of the Program and each project underneath.
Leads development and adoption of regular, clear and actionable senior leadership reporting, including program and project status delivery and benefit realisation both globally and by fundraising & field office.
Stakeholder Engagement, Influence and Management for Program Delivery:
Leads stakeholders across the end-to-end global and local spectrum to timely delivery by establishing accountability, driving for timely progress, and efficiently managing risks, escalations and fast problem solving.
Leads peers in global functions to timely delivery by ensuring effective communication, identifying and managing dependencies and risks, and solving/escalating issues immediately.
Leads 25+ fundraising offices to timely delivery by agreeing and aligning on responsibilities, expectations, ways of working, Program and Project Plans, timelines, milestones, benefits and KPIs.
Leads global peers, WVIT and the fundraising office business, digital and IT teams to timely delivery by collaboratively building business requirements and change requests, supporting technical user story writing, facilitating functional testing and readiness, driving for deployment of technical capabilities and ensuring timely Support Office access and usage of the new capabilities, data and/or content.
Leads field-facing regional, national and local partners to timely delivery by regularly communicating plans, learnings and next steps, by agreeing on business process changes, deciding on timelines and sequencing, providing tools and training for staff capacity building and managing change in relevant ways.
Effectively and continuously interact with all stakeholders to ensure full visibility and understanding of the Program, expectations, responsibilities, timelines and status.
Direct and matrixed staff and consultant leadership & management:
Leads and manages several assigned consultants who are either directly reporting to this role or matrixed to this role to ensure efficient and effective planning, implementation, tracking, delivery and completion of the assigned tasks.
Leads the assigned staff and consultants to deliver and complete all the projects within the Program, effectively and efficiently managing all the aspects below:
Project Scope Management:
Ensure that the project includes all the work required, and only the work required, to complete the project successfully.
Project Time Management:
Manage the timely completion of the project.
Project Cost Management:
Planning, estimating, budgeting, financing, funding, managing, and controlling costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget.
Project Quality Management:
Manage the processes and activities of the performing organization that determine quality policies, objectives, and responsibilities so that the project will satisfy the needs for which it was undertaken.
Project Human Resource Management:
Organize, manage, and lead the project team. This may or may not include the direct management of resources, but does include the coordination of project related activities to maintain the timeline, and scope of the project.
Project Communications Management:
Ensure timely and appropriate planning, collection, creation, distribution, storage, retrieval, management, control, monitoring, and the ultimate disposition of project information.
Project Risk Management:
Conducting risk management planning, identification, analysis, response planning, and controlling risk on a project.
Project Procurement Management:
Manage the processes necessary to purchase or acquire products, services, or results needed from outside the project team. Processes in this area include Procurement Planning, Solicitation Planning, Solicitation, Source Selection, Contract Administration, and Contract Closeout.
Project Stakeholder Management:
Identify all people or organizations impacted by the project, analyzing stakeholder expectations and impact on the project, and developing appropriate management strategies for effectively engaging stakeholders in project decisions and execution.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or other relevant field. (Highly relevant professional experience may substitute in part for education; this will be evaluated on a case by case basis.)
Certificate(s) in Program/Project Management, including waterfall and agile methodologies. Preferably PgMP, AgilePM, SAFe and/or PMI-ACP certification acquired.
Proven leadership skills and capacity to effectively lead, partner, collaborate and impact in a virtual and global working environment with a strong capacity in managing change processes, negotiation, and influencing particularly in non-reporting relationships and authority.
Proven ability to effectively manage large, complex projects to completion is critical to success in this role, as is the ability to effectively incorporate continual improvement through ongoing testing and multiple feedback loops.
Ability to effectively communicate in English with many different functions, cultures and levels in the organisation (orally and in writing).This role requires not only technical proficiency in English, but the sensitivity to identify potential concerns or confusion in communication, as well as a strong ability to identify and negotiate win-win solutions to problems.
Proven capacity to test/assess program activities and adapt plans and processes based on test outcomes.
Highly proficient in information and communication technology online and offline, as well as proficiency in data and business analytics reporting

Minimum of 10 years of work experience in progressively more responsible project management roles with experience in both Waterfall and Agile projects and a minimum 7-10 years of program management experience working with multiple projects across a variety of industries and international organisations.
Ideally, minimum of 3 years of work experience within digital innovation and/or customer/user experience related role.
Demonstrated success of leading a digital transformation related project/program and/or leading large projects in a virtual, global environment.
Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others, including directors, managers, marketing, digital and technology leads and field office staff.
Strong experience in financial planning and management.
Certification as PgMP, AgilePM, SAFe and/or PMI-ACP is an asset.
Excellent (Fluent) written and verbal communication in English.
Excellent skills in common program/project management tools and platforms.
