To develop and integrate the initiatives for the spiritual training of the World Vision staff, to reinforce and initiate the development of partnership with churches / missions, other religious partners and the faithful expression of the Christian testimony in a holistic manner in order to contribute to the development of children, their families and communities to be equipped for transformational development. Assist WV Base Manager and Social Cohesion & Peacebuilding Manager in the development and integration of key project models and Faith & Development (F&D) approach in World Vision International's response in Central African Republic (CAR).

Communicate the identity and Christian ethic of World Vision International, demonstrate a quality of spiritual life and strengthen the peace process.


Leadership and Management:

  • Develop a strategic partnership with leading networks of churches and religious institutions and faith-based organizations for broad implementation of project models and approaches such as (CFC, CoH-CP, CoH-MNCH, EWV, DNH).

  • Develop and implement a Christian training program to build staff capacity. Equip staff to experience Christian identity and WV calling through a broad implementation of Mission Immersion Program (MIP).

  • Support local initiatives for social cohesion and peacebuilding led by local and religious institutions for peace and reconciliation.

  • Encourage the participation of churches in areas such as Christian witness, prayer and the spiritual edification of children in the context of peace and reconciliation.

  • Support and encourage churches to engage in holistic mission and support church unity initiatives in CAR.

  • Contribute to communicate the identity of the organization and to establish an ethics and a culture compatible with the Vision, the Mission and the Fundamental Values of World Vision International.

Technical and Program Quality:

  • Support staff in integrating key project models and approaches to F&D in emergency relief, advocacy and social cohesion by training staff.

  • Develop and implement targeted strategies for engaging with churches and Christian institutions as part of WV's ministry to the most vulnerable.

  • Develop and / or support programs of spiritual edification of children and youth in accordance with World Vision International policies and guidelines (Children's Spiritual Food Policy).

  • Assist the manager of social cohesion and peacebuilding in the coordination and implementation of Faith & Development interventions for the response in CAR.

Resources Acquisition:

  • Assist RAM team and operations in development of Concept notes and proposals.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning:

  • Ensure monitoring and evaluation of activities related to Christian commitment, social cohesion and peacebuilding, Christian witness and partnership with religious organizations.

Networking, Representation and Coordination:

  • Develop a networking and capacity building program for churches in their communities.


  • Bachelor's degree in Education Sciences or in Development Studies or Social Sciences

  • Four years of experience in the field of Christian leadership / social cohesion and peacebuilding. At least two years of field-based work in a similar, conflict-prone environment is required.

  • Experience developing concept note and proposals in the following fields preferred: Faith & Development, social cohesion and peace building, child rights & protection.

  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.

  • Excellent understanding of the dynamics of conflict resolution in the context of war, working with children in emergencies, understanding of humanitarian cluster and knowledge of CAR preferred.

  • Proven team management and coordination skills.

  • Strongly prefer fluency in French and English (written, oral).

  • Certificate for HEAT or other equal security training.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Level of education required: Bachelor's degree in theology or social science.

  • Very good understanding and respect of different churches and other communities of Faith.

  • Ability to work with churches of different Christian traditions.

  • Understand WVI's ethics, work philosophy, core values, etc.

  • Knowledge of the Code of Conduct of the International Red Cross.

  • Good command of the French language and English.

  • Development: Strong knowledge and understanding of the humanitarian industry (relief, development, and advocacy), including how INGOs operate in the global and local contexts. Strong understanding of WV’s current ministry and operations.

  • Strong networking skills.

  • Knowledge of children's rights, policies, laws and regulations in CAR and in WV's partnership.

  • Skills in project design, budget preparation, implementation and report writing.

  • Ability to independently develop log frames, monitoring and evaluation plans and indicator tracking tables for projects and programs.

Work Environment/Travel:

  • Hardship posting with team house residence.

  • This position requires frequent travel to the field.
