PURPOSE OF POSITION- Location can be anywhere in the Middle East & Eastern European Region where WVI is registered to operate
The purpose of this position is to support MEER Evidence & Knowledge Management Unit with pursuing the evidence agenda in MEER in alignment with the Partnership Strategy 2030. Aiming at ‘’focusing Our Ministry for greater impact” as provided by the Strategic Imperative 2, the position holder will support setting up and/or revising existing DME systems and business process for successful evidence embedment.
End Results Expected
Contribution to the evidence embedment work so that the evidence building becomes business as usual in all the implementing offices in MEER
Contribute to the process of the capacity building of the TE, Fragile Context and Response Office empowering them for evidence embedment in their regular DME process
In partnership with the MEER E&KM director and the RDU team facilitate the evidence embedment into the external fundraising
Evidence embedment guiding and capacity building materials are ready and available
TE, Fragile and Response Offices feel empowered to lead their evidence building work
Continuous Technical Support to the regional sectoral experts and functional leads in the area of evidence building
Contribute to the process of building better evidence on the role of faith in change makingin MEER
Provide technical support to the MEER HEA & WASHin building evidencein respective areas
Support the evidence building on the basis of the It Takes A World Campaign
Pursuing better incorporation of gender in evidencebuilding
Strategic support to strengthen Regional and National Offices’ evaluation work
One Syria Response Strategy Framework Analysis
Analysis of the One Syria Response Strategy Data after each round
Preparation of One Syria Response Strategy Analysis Report after each round of the data collection
Support provided to the Response with building on the findings of the Strategy data analysis
Perform other duties related to programme quality and evidence building as assigned by MEER Evidence & Knowledge Management Director.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Masters degree in Development Economics/International Development/Social Science with expertise in quantitative and qualitative methodology, operations research, research methodology.
Additional work experience required as a minimumqualification for this position.
Direct experience of leading research and evaluation in various development sectors.
Strong analytical and English writing skills, and solid understanding of a range of methods for monitoring, evaluation and assessment to promote evidence-based learning and evidence dissemination for multiple stakeholders.
Profound understanding of methodological challenges involved in producing and assuring the quality of qualitative and quantitative data and application of innovative and creative approaches to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders.
Experience in translating technical materials into user-friendly tools and guidance for field programming staff to collect and analyse agreed evidences.
Ability to work with the various team including virtual team members in the field.
Willingness to travel occasionally to WV program offices (15-20%).
Passion and trust on the power of appropriate evidence to generate supports and resources for the realization of child wellbeing.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Research experience, ability to synthesize and create reports for management, ability to coach others in applying good research methodology.
List additional work experience preferred for this position.
Good experience in leading research and evaluation in different institutions (donors, government, international NGOs or independent consultants) in Middle East and Eastern Europe Region.
Good understanding on WV programs and approach to realize Child Wellbeing expertise in gender-related research and analysis.
