Job Location: Manager for Communication in Dominican Republic office, based on national office at Gazcue, Santo Domingo city.

Strategic job’s objective:

Manage the Strategic Communication, Public Relations and Marketing plan, in order to position World Vision as an expert in issues of child protection and quality education, in front of key audiences: donors, media, partners and other communities of interest.

Main responsibilities:

  • Manage the Strategic Communication plans of World Vision in the Dominican Republic, to promote the positioning of the institution as an expert in child protection and educational quality.

  • Defines the policy and general communication plans of the organization, in consultation with the other areas and based on the guidelines and global policies of the Fellowship.

  • Manages the relationship with media and opinion leaders.

  • Ensures the brand unit and the receipt of the corporate image.

  • Manage the communication crises of World Vision in the Dominican Republic.

  • Manages the involvement of personalities and influencers with the World Vision brand.

  • Supervise the coherence and consistency of all printed, digital and audiovisual messages with the organization's strategy.

  • Contributes to the definition of the communication culture and the corporate identity of the organization, in coordination People and Culture.

  • Advises the organizational leadership in matters of communication and public relations.

  • Manage the communication and positioning campaigns of the organization.

  • Supervises the production and assembly of events with a public profile, for the positioning and public relations of the organization.

  • Defines the public discourse, spokespersons and spokesperson team of the organization, in coordination with the World Vision Management Team.

  • Design communication response plans for emergencies and disasters.

  • Guarantees the alignment of Local Communication initiatives, with LAC and Global Center.

  • Coordinates the execution of a digital strategy coherent with the Organization's Strategy and that serves as a support to the goals of projecting the impact, increasing the income and influencing the decision makers.

  • Ensures team preparation to respond to emergencies and disasters in an efficient and relevant manner for the entire Fellowship.

  • Analyze the impact results of the shared content with the different audiences, mainly in the positioning in the media.

  • Manages trainings for the staff and the advisory council to demonstrate the impact and influence of the organization.

  • Coordinates the training of emergency rapid response teams to support response (taking photos, making videos, others).

  • Establishes a Communications and Public Relations plan to raise awareness about the cause of World Vision.

  • Manage the production of publications for accountability to donors, beneficiaries and partners.

  • Coordinates the execution of communications initiatives to support the organization's resources collection.

  • Performs annual performance management.

  • Ensured key development processes and follow-up to opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensures the development of a successor.

Skills and competencies required


  • Degree in Professional Journalism, Social Communication or Corporative Communications.

  • Master's degree in Public Relations, corporate communication, marketing or related areas.

  • Training in development, social responsibility, sustainability or related areas.

  • Diploma or certification in project management.


  • Proficiency in English, reading, writing and conversation - advanced or native.

  • Excellent skills in oral and written communication.

  • Domain of journalistic writing, editing and revision.

  • Experience in audiovisual production, educational, institutional and promotional materials.Excellent relations with journalists, media and opinion leaders.

  • Office package management

  • Domain of IOS, Mac computers.

  • Experience in leadership and supervision of personnel.

  • Management of the Adobe package (Photoshop, Indesign and Premiere)

  • Knowledge of the regional context of communications (Latin America and the Caribbean)


  • Minimum experience of five years in the area of ​​Corporate Communication, Public Relations or Social Responsibility.

  • Proven knowledge of the national context and the dynamics of local relationship of the media.
