Development Facilitator

To provide support and coordination in ensuring CWB is realized through engaging development partners in the operational area to ensure involvement in sustainable integrated program design, monitoring and evaluation within Cocoa Life Project. The position interacts with community and partners to build capacity and supports the Cocoa Life Project Coordinator, Project Manager and other team members achieve community set goals.

The Package

  • The positions is based in Bia West

  • S/He reports to the Project Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

  • Build relationship within communities as catalyst, broker and facilitator, working with partners and various stakeholders towards high community involvement, support and participation in program planning & implementation with involvement of relevant stakeholders.

  • Map and Identify new partners within and outside target communities with interest in livelihoods development and strengthen their capacity for viable partnerships towards increasing profitability of farm and off-farm businesses in promoting the wellbeing of children at community level.

  • Support Cocoa Life Project Coordinator in effective project planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting process relevant to the Cocoa Life Project to enhance community participation and ownership of program and project activities.

  • Facilitate an on-going community- led co-creation and design process and monitor implementation to ensure that program interventions reflect the needs, opportunities, and capacity of the community.

  • Facilitate ongoing monitoring and evaluation of projects and programs within the LEAP platform and ensure that learning and documentation of lessons learned and best practices inform management decision making

  • Support efforts at eliminating child labour and integrate these with other ADP activities

  • Collect stories, data and information from assigned areas or sections so that it can be included in Program generated regular reports or specific responses

  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor or PM.

Education / Work Experience / Key Competencies

  • Associate Degree or Equivalent in Community Development Studies, Sociology, other Social Sciences in related field required, Bachelor’s degree preferred)

  • Strong understanding of transformational development and frameworks.

  • Critical and analytical thinking skills

  • Good facilitation skills, including catalyzing, connecting, and building the capacity of community groups/ partners.

  • Strong communicator at all levels with interpersonal skills, ability and commitment to listen to others

  • Ability to work in a team and to lead teams

  • Must be fluent in Twi and Sehwi.

  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
