Health, Nutrition, HIV & AIDs Programme Manager
To provide technical expertise, lead and coordinate the implementation of an integrated approach for health and nutrition, technical programme for World Vision Ghana in order to achieve the overall World Vision Ghana National strategy and to ensure sustainable transformational development.
The position is based in Accra.
S/He reports to the Operations Director.
Promote the incorporation of health, nutrition, and HIV&AIDS into projects & programs implemented.
Work with other departments in the planning, acquisition and deployment of medical supplies for efficient and effective programming.
Identify training needs arising from strategic and local agenda, develop and deliver appropriate health, nutrition, HIV&AIDS relevant trainings for World Vision staff and partners.
Work with the Resource Acquisition Management unit to identify grants opportunities for health and nutrition and support the preparation of winnable concept papers and proposals for their acquisition.
Ensure that World Vision Ghana is represented in all key Health forums.
Overall responsibility for the design and the implementation of Health, Nutrition project activities ensuring that services are delivered on time, on budget and in compliance with standards.
Support the field team in the development of regular revisions to, and in compliance with, community agreements for implementation of the Health project.
Ensure that projects/programs adhere to World Vision partnership, Ministry of Health, Ghana Health Service and funding agencies reporting requirements.
Support Health and Nutrition Project Officers, Cluster program managers in annual project planning and ensuring that interventions are addressing maternal and child health needs, towards improving the wellbeing of children.
Education / Work Experience
Masters Degree in Community/Public Health or related field with a strong health background.
5 to 10 years experience in health programs in a comparable organization.
Strong management, and capacity building skills needed.
Good facilitation skills.
Experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and report writing.
Enthusiastic and self-motivating.
Ability to use initiative and adopt a proactive approach.
Ability to prioritize and manage workload.
Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
