Regional Operations Manager

Job Description

Regional Operations Manager

Provide technical and managerial leadership to field staff in the Regional Operations Area and to ensure transformational development through the implementation of Sponsorship and non-Sponsorship projects in line with World Vision ministry policies, standards and guidelines.

The Package

  • The position will be based in Accra

  • S/He reports to the Operations Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and implementation processes involving Assessments, Designs/Redesigns, Baselines, Evaluations and Transition as well as Lessons Learnt Events in the operational area.

  • Ensure high level of quality programmes in alignment with World Vision standards and development approach.

  • Oversee the Area Programming budgeting and planning processes and reviews.

  • Put in place immediate measures to address all variances in actual budget spending.

  • Ensure that competent and motivated staff of the Regional Operational Area are hired and retained

  • Establish annual performance and development goals for staff to ensure optimal performance.

  • Ensure Sponsorship management standards are met and child protection policies and protocols are adhered to by all staff and partners.

  • Coordinate the integration of cross cutting themes and ensure well-coordinated and effective communication between the Regional Operations Office, Clusters Offices and Head Office.

  • Ensure emergency preparedness and security measures are in place for the safety of the programmes, staff, World Vision Ghana assets, communities, Registered Children & their families.

  • Build partnerships through networking and advocacy with public and private sector to promote child well-being and World Vision Ghana visibility at the Regional level.

Education / Work Experience / Critical Competencies

  • Bachelor degree in a field related to Development, Management, Economic or Social Sciences is preferred. (Master degree is an advantage).

  • 5 years in managerial position

  • 3 years in leadership position in development programs.

  • Program management skills

  • Human Resource skills

  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
