Job Description

Finance Officer - Ghana Integrated Water Sanitation & Hygiene Project

To manage day-to-day financial transactions of the project to ensure effective project implementation within World Vision International Financial policies and procedures and donor requirements.

The Package

  • The position is based in in Savelugu

  • S/He reports to the Project Accountant

Key Responsibilities but not limited to the following

  • Ensure all supporting documents to cash disbursement, approvals and journal vouchers are complete, accurate, relevant and comply with World Vision International/World Vision Ghana finance policies and all donor requirements.

  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly project, finance reports and maintain finance records and filing system on monthly basis.

  • Assist in internal/external audit and ensure that the minimum “Acceptable audit rating” according to World Vision Partnership requirements are reached.

  • Review accounting internal control systems and procedures and recommend improvements if found inadequate.

  • Assist Grant Accountant to coordinate the preparation of the project’s budget and implement revisions as necessary; and support in monitoring actual project expenditure against approved budget line items.

Education / Work Experience / Key Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree Accounting/Finance preferred / Business Administration -Accounting/Finance or Part 11 of ACCA, CA/CIMA.

  • Minimum of three years in similar position.

  • HND Accounting/Finance with 5 years experience

  • Good working knowledge in accounting software preferably Sunsystem.

  • Advanced knowledge in MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint.

  • Good analytical skills
