Local Resource Development Specialist – Job Summary

A unique opportunity to work in a fundraising role for World Vision Ghana, an international, Christian childrens charity. To support the Resource Acquisition & Management (RAM) unit of World Vision Ghana (WVG) in building long-term relationships with carefully-targeted potential donors in Ghana to meet challenging fundraising targets.

The Package

  • The position is based in Accra.

  • S/He reports to the Resource Acquisition & Management (RAM) Manager

  • Some local travel will be required (40% of role)

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a long term relationship by way of personal interactions and relationship with relevant key staff of potential corporate and other local donors.

  • Develop a comprehensive Public Private Partnership (PPP) plan for World Vision Ghana and review from time to time to keep it relevant within the changing trends in the external environment.

  • Develop tools and use them to continuously gather and analyze relevant data/information regarding priorities, geographic focus, timing etc of corporate entities that have interest in and or significant budgetary allocation under their corporate social responsibility portfolio.

  • Participate in proposal development processes and develop creative ways to present these to the donor

  • Participate in the development and review WVG Resource Acquisition and Management Business Plan and action plan.

  • Establish an effective monitoring system with project managers to ensure that projects funded under these initiatives meet the donor expectations in terms of standards

  • Quality reporting on programming and capacity to attract new donor/partners with quality outcomes and impact in the lives of vulnerable children

Education / Work Experience / Key Competencies

  • BA /BSc Degree in Social Science disciplines / media Communication / Marketing.

  • 3 years in resource mobilization or a in a similar role.

  • Good communication and presentation skills

  • Computer skills.

  • Working knowledge of programs/projects cycle management.

  • Ability to maintain effective, authentic working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proposal writing skills

  • Influencing and negotiation skills.

  • Good planning and organizational skills.

  • Must be a committed Christian
