Partnering & Capacity Building Specialist– Job Summary
To provide strategic guidance on local level partner engagements focusing on civil society organizations, district and Area councils, local government and the private organizations. In addition, the position is required to provide high level guidance on aspects of partner assessment, identification and capacity building.
The position is based in Accra.
S/He reports to the Ministry Quality and Strategy Director.
Ensure that the identification and assessment of local Partners is done as per the World Vision (WV) standards
Provide technical backstopping and guidance on several partnership issues to regional and field staff including sub granting, networking, mapping of partners, etc.
Ensure compliance and effective utilization of the tools, models, guidelines developed to facilitate effective relationship enhancement and management.
Review all local partnering MOUs to ensure adherence to WV standards and procedures.
Provide technical support for the Resource Acquisition Management Unit for effective Partnering.
Mentor Regional and Programme staff with skills and knowledge to facilitate the growth and development of strong partnerships.
Facilitate staff and partner capacity enhancement to improve on their knowledge and skill levels in the areas of partnering, networking, collaboration and sub granting.
Support resource mobilization to support the work of local partners to promote child well-being.
Participate in National level Networks and thematic working groups to facilitate organizational learning
Support the implementation of the Development Programming Approach (DPA) in the National Office
In consultation with the Knowledge Management Unit, organize and facilitate forums to enhance the sharing and learning of best practices within World Vision Ghana and amongst partners through forums like partner review meetings.
Support the development of knowledge products to strengthen World Vision Ghana institutional memory as a basis for learning, documentation, monitoring and evaluation of promising practices in partnering
Develop guidelines for sub granting resources to partners and monitor implementation in liaison with other technical specialists such as Finance and Grant Managers
Liaise with Technical Programme Managers, Cluster Managers and Accountants to ensure sub grant processes and all other financial partnering processes are effectively implemented.
Develop and roll out Tools, processes and guidelines for effective communication with stakeholders and monitor/evaluate their implementation
Develop monthly, quarterly and annual work plans, budgets and reports.
Education / Work Experience / Key Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Development studies, Social sciences, or any other related field
Certification in facilitation/training, networking and monitoring & evaluation and para-legal will be an added advantage.
Preferably a minimum of 5 to 10 years working experience in an NGO sector (Directly facilitating capacity building and partnerships at a field level)
Experience in brokering partnerships.
