Procurement Officer - Sourcing

Job Description

World Vision Ghana (WVG) is looking for a highly qualified, proactive, motivated and resourceful person to fill the position of Procurement Officer-Sourcing.

Procurement Officer Sourcing – Job Summary

To manage all sourcing for WVG operations in a cost effective manner in accordance with procurement policies and guidelines.

The Package

  • The position is based in Accra.

  • S/He reports to the Supply Chain Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the procurement of goods.

  • Proactively monitor Supplier performance to ensure strategic objectives are met in a timely and cost effective manner.

  • Ensure procurement standards are followed for different categories of procurements.

  • Lead fact-based negotiations with Suppliers.

  • Provide a service desk support and ticketing system to effectively track Purchase Requests, Purchase Orders through all the Procurement stages, Delivery and Payment stages.

  • Maintain profesional communication between the organizativo and Service Providers to ensure quality deliverables.

  • Maintain good level of public relations with outside suppliers as well as strong partnership with internal customers

  • Train Managers and procurement committees in various projects on good procurement proceedings to align with procurement standards.

  • Maintain the integrity of procurements.

  • Lead the development and evaluation of RFPs for procurement of goods etc.

  • Carry out quarterly reviews for field offices on procurement related processes

  • Serve as Recorder to the National Procurement Committee.

  • Track the deliverables of Technical Committees of National Procurement Committee

  • Assist in identifying and the qualification of suppliers for Strategic Sourcing.

  • Prepare Monthly Reports and other Strategic Reports including the Rolling Savings reports and weekly procurement reports.

Education / Work Experience / Key Competencies

  • University degree in Business Administration, Procurement or similar degree.

  • Partly CIPS qualified preferred.

  • Solid working knowledge of the 7-Step Sourcing Process

  • Strong negotiation experience

  • Strong Contract Management experience

  • Ability to analyze and report on Supply Chain Management and financial metrics

  • Basic knowledge of local legal positions for contracts

  • Strong understanding of market analysis, supplier evaluation, total cost of ownership analysis, category strategy development & implementation

  • At least 5years experience in purchasing

  • Good Supply Chain Management expertise
