Senior Director, Innovation
*Position location to be determined by home country of successful candidate within a jurisdiction (Country or US State) where WVI is registered to operate.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Instilling innovation and agility is critical to working towards WV’s mission and vision, WV’s contribution to child well-being and strategy realisation. The Senior Director for Innovation will establish an innovation management framework and process to identify and scale innovation across the various WV entities and external parties. This leader will seek to drive innovation and build a culture of innovation, challenging the norms at world vision and bring ideas from conception to completion.
Provide strategic leadership and thought leadership on innovation within World Vision.
Leading, managing and supporting specific internal innovation initiatives or programmes to demonstrate innovation value add for field impact.
Coordinate and manage processes to enhance effectiveness, visibility and scaleability of internal innovation in World Vision's various entities.
Building a global Innovation community and leading various internal support activities.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Graduate or post-graduate qualification at Degree level in management or business administration.
Professional training on innovation management or corporate innovation/R&D.
Minimum of 10 years of Senior Management experience in the field of development, business management, development or humanitarian response with experience in management of humanitarian response or development programs.
Relevant working experience in specific corporate / non-profit innovation function.
Experience in innovation initiatives in large complex organization.
Clear conceptual thinker who can convert innovation theory and concepts into execution of innovation/into operational outcomes.
Responsibility for management of innovation within humanitarian response or development context.
Proven ability and experience to lead / manage by influence (rather than line management authority).
Demonstrated leadership skills (thought leadership, process leadership) in complex and multi-facet work environment, being able to lead processes of virtual teams effectively.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a network / community of individuals and entities where members are geographically dispersed.
Ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts and stressful environments.
The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 33% of the time.
