Warehouse and Logistics Specialist

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
World Vision KRI is seeking a professional to work in its in-kind food assistance project in ensuring effective and efficient Warehousing and Logistics systems are in place.
Develop and implement effective and efficient warehouse and logistics systems to ensure IDP beneficiaries are assisted in a timely and dignified manner. Coordinate closely with primary and secondary transporters ensuring that compliance to standards and guidelines as per agreed contractual terms are observed and upheld.
Work as WV logistics focal point with the donor on logistics and planning of commodities delivery, receipt and dispatch.
Ensure an effective system of the receipt, storage, dispatch, documentation, accounting, and reporting of commodities received from the donor and dispatched to beneficiaries is in place.
To lead the warehouse operations ensuring WVI standards are maintained.
To build capacity of national staff who will be capable to contribute to acceptable WV warehouse and logistics standard practices.
Establish and maintain a standardised stock management system for warehouse and field distribution points.
Ensure adqute timely provision of commodities to the Food distribution points through close coordination with field distribution teams.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
BA Degree /Logistics, Administration or in other related field.
Extensive exposure to warehousing and logistics systems and management (minimum 3 years.)
Adequate knowledge and experience in food assistance programs and donors standards appropriate to the warehousing and logistics management of the food assistance programs.
Knowledge of the Sphere standards, Code of Conduct for Red Cross/ Red crescent, Humanitarian Accountability Partnerships (HAPI) and other international humanitarian standards.
