JOB OPPORTUNITY

Communicating with Communities (CwC) officer - Erbil

Purpose of position:

To support in the establishment of a strong accountability mechanism which includes effective communication with communities through various communication channels, thus ensuring accountability to affected population at the distribution sites and at their habitation.

The holder of the position should communicate World Vision’s ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Major Activities

30 per cent

  • Monitoring and track various community complaints and feedback.

  • Track the complaints, feedback, suggestions and enquires that refugees makes as part of the food assistance project

  • Visit distribution sites and ensure to receive feedback and inputs from the affected population

  • Review and Generate summary reports of weekly and monthly inputs

  • Track the closing of complaints loop by ensuring every complaint is processed and appropriate response is generated and responded to the particular compliant.

30 per cent

  • Develop appropriate response and communicate.

  • Work closely with the Accountability coordinator in developing appropriate communication (posters, leaflets, short SMS, Gallery walk, banners and audio messages and data show messages)

  • Ensure these communication messages are effectively communicated with the affected population at the distribution sites and other locations as dimed appropriate

  • Engage with communities closely on one-to-one or one-to-group sessions to transfer key information and updates on the project

20 per cent

  • Coordination and collaboration and educate

  • To co-ordinate and foster relations with other MEAL units and World Vision Programs in the district so as to ensure smooth function

  • Participate in regular coordination meetings in WV and understand the updates and changes that are announced.

  • Capacity development

  • Participate in capacity development of self and MEAL units in doing the job role effectively

  • Ability to train other staff on CwC and completing the loop of CRM.

  • Perform any other duties as required by the MEAL officer and or Accountability coordinator or his/her designee.

Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:

  1. Prospective candidates should have a minimum of a degree.

  2. Candidates should also have at least one years’ previous experience in a NGO related field.

  3. Good command of oral and written English, and local language is must. Computer literacy is an added advantage.

  4. Strong communication skills Verbal and written English/Arabic and Kurdish.

  5. Must demonstrate willingness to learn and work with others as a team.

  6. Ability to perform field assignments and willingness to travel for long period of time in difficult terrain, harsh and demanding conditions. Candidates should also be willing to live and work in very difficult and security-risk areas.

  7. Travel: Domestic travel is required.
