Liaison Officer

Job Description

Position Title: Liaison Officer

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Liaison Officer will support the Operations Manager in coordinating with humanitarian actors, communities, and key stakeholders towards furthering World Vision’s objectives in the Syria Response.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support the coordination of humanitarian interventions through developing routine information and idea exchange with local and international aid actors, and participating in and facilitating joint field assessments, evaluations and routine monitoring mechanisms

  • Liaise with the community to identify special needs and provide orientation about World Vision and the services provided.

  • Develop and implement proper strategies which will be suitable with local contexts

  • Assist in the development of appropriate strategies to improve the application of humanitarian principles and develop ground rules for humanitarian interventions.

  • Develop and maintain coordination and cooperation mechanisms among stakeholders

  • Seek ways to improve the participation of local actors in the relevant area of operation, including authorities, beneficiaries, and civil society, in the planning and implementation of aid activities.

  • Responsible for monitoring vehicles in his/her custody, maintenance and usage.

  • Position requires constant contact with staff to discuss issues, resolve problems, and make recommendations to management.

  • In conjunction with the Administration Officer in Operations, create a detailed logistics plan

  • Arrange transport for WV stakeholders to/from project sites

  • Arrange transport of key goods to/from project sites.

Education:Diploma in business administration or any related field

Experience:2 to 4 years experience in related field

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Good planning and organizational skills and efficient work methods.

  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office packages, experience with databases a distinct advantage.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must hold a valid Jordanian driver’s license with a minimum of 2 years experience.
