PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Assistant to engineer will work closely with the volunteers where he will be responsible for providing a technical training for the volunteer as well as supervising them within the implementation of the project by providing technical guidance & the proper implementation techniques. Assistant to engineer will directly supervise & manage the refugees and Jordanians volunteers to achieve the goals of the project under the supervision & guidance of the infrastructure engineer
Collects field data for the construction requirements using by using the proper devices, equipment’s & techniques.
Inspect and monitor construction sites to ensure adherence to standards, building codes, and specifications.
Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures and fixtures
Monitor the implementation of the dam protection techniques and appliances.
Maintain daily logs and supplement inspection records with photographs and marking the layout drawings.
Supervise the workers during the implementation of the protection techniques step by step.
Making sure that all of the workers are following the safety procedures
Prepare daily report for the site activities
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Diploma degree with a major in civil engineering or civil engineering technology.
Knowledge of child protection / child rights
Good written & oral command
Computer literate mainly with MSOffice software package
Good communication skills and ability to build collaborative relationships
Ability to foster a good team spirit
support the projects by adapting and applying engineering techniques, conducting tests and inspections, preparing reports and calculations
five years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, technical or professional experience in civil engineering work in such areas as construction, riprap, gabions wall, ditches, transportation, hydraulics, highway, soils and materials
Two years’ experience supervising gabions wall, check dams, drop structure construction, soil erosion & any protection technique that were subject to dam protection permit requirements.
Ability to use civil engineering software’s such as AutoCAD.
