Position: Finance Assistant
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To maintain cash liquidity, prepare checks and on time funds to transfers to Staff and Vendors respectively on a regular basis while updating cash and bank records. Review Payment Vouchers for arithmetic accuracy and preparation of Voucher interface for uploading to Sun Systems on a daily basis.
Maintaining cash book
Maintain Cash Books and make sure that all supporting documentation is according to the guidelines and policies.
Maintain Cash Records and ensure their monthly reconciliation with cash on hand and Balance Sheet.
Assist Finance Department in ensuring compliance with centralized internal financial policies and procedures by project staff.
Prepare Voucher Interface for all cash payments for Business and Travel advances for both National and international staff.
Reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts for Jordan office (150/155 for National Staff
Tracking & recording vendor’s guarantees /retentions
Monitor & resolve bank issues including international staff's bank guarantees issuing/ cancelling, cheque books requests etc.
Prepare cheques, wire transfer requests
Following up with the staff's salary deduction and constant updating the regional office about the international deductions & Jordan office/ P&C the national salary deductions
Monthly updating P&C department with the freelancer/teacher/ consultant’s payment for the tax exemption purposes.
Frequent notifying the suppliers/ vendors for the ready payments/ cheques to release cheques on hold constantly
Assist with preparation & coordination of the audit process
Assist with the monthly & annual closures
Provide other assistance to Finance Department
Education:Degree or equivalent in accounting and finance or any relevant field
Experience:Experience with international NGOs or other similar organizations is desirable.
Knowledge & Skills:
Practical knowledge of financial basics.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles is required.
Effective in written and oral communication in Russian. Working knowledge of English.
Requires good computer skills (Excel, World, Spreadsheets).
Must be self-motivated, innovation, able to work under pressure
Basic understanding of business principles.
Be organized, accurate and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Willingness to be flexible with hours when necessary
