Cross Border Field Monitoring Coordinator
Position Title: Cross Border Field Monitoring Coordinator (pending fund approval)
World Vision is seeking an experienced Cross Border Field Monitoring Manager to help build strong oversight systems for our health, education, protection, nutrition and livelihoods programs in Syria. The candidate will lead a team of MEAL and supply chain staff in Jordan, and a team of field monitors inside Dar'a, overseeing end to end verification and quality monitoring of our project in Syria. The candidate should have strong experience in remote management of MEAL systems and teams inside SyriaPURPOSE OF POSITION:
World Vision’s South Syria Area Office, which sits within the Syria Country Office in Amman, is seeking an experienced Cross Border Field Monitoring Coordinatorto play a critical role in the transparent monitoring of program activities, and to ensure that operations are well-functioning, coordinated and compliant with World Vision, donor and other relevant policies.
The Cross Border Field Monitoring Coordinatorwill support the establishment of an integrated real time monitoring platform – drawing on available technologies – for both programmatic (program quality) and operational (including compliance) aspects of World Vision’s South Syria Area Office. Monitoring data generated will play a critical role in important overall risk management processes for World Vision’s Syria Country Office.
Within the scope of a growing multi-sectoral portfolio of humanitarian and early recover activities in South Syria, the incumbent will manage a MEAL Officer, and a small team of monitors – with the aim of providing high-quality and real-time advice to inform operational and strategic decision-making.
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject with a focus on team management, project management or other relevant skills
Experience:Minimum 2 years’ experience working specifically on humanitarian operations in Syria
Knowledge & Skills:
Specific knowledge and professional experience working on operational risk mitigation in the Middle East region for NGOs, with a specific focus on remote-management methods of working, including the integration of technological solutions
Detailed understanding of remote monitoring tools – including technological solutions
Strong understanding of fundamental monitoring and verification tools and processes with the humanitarian sector
Able to manage a small team, keeping them on task.
