Project Officer - GF TB

Job Description

Purpose of the position

Ensure successful implementation of Global Fund TB, Health, Nutrition and HIV&AIDS projects aimed at contributing to improved children wellbeing outcomes within the designated county.

Major Responsibilities:

Project Implementation

  • Implementation of the Global Fund TB project. Work with the Cluster and ADP team to ensure proper planning and implementation of TB and Child protection interventions

  • Ensure effective integration of TB in Health, HIV&AIDS and Nutrition interventions with other projects in the programme.

  • Support RC monitoring and integration into the TB,Health, HIV&AIDS, Nutrition and Child Protection interventions

  • Provide technical support and direction on TB, Health, HIV&AIDS, Nutrition and Child protection matters in the ADPs and cluster

  • Work with CWBF and local structures to ensure that community awareness meetings on TB, Health, HIV& AIDS, Nutrition and Child protection interventions held

  • Work with local structures to foster positive knowledge, attitudes & practices by community members on up take of TB, Health, HIV &AIDS, Nutrition and Child protection services

DME, Reporting and Documentation

  • Utilize Global Fund M&E tools and follow on set targets and timelines of reporting and documentation

  • Participate in the project/ programme assessments, designs, Annual Operating Plans development and reviews

  • Prepare and submit timely quality monthly, quarterly , bi annual , annual and other relevant reports as per the requirements of TB Global fund, Nutrition Health reports and Child protection reports

  • Utilize Sponsorship STEP data and the MOHs HIS to monitor TB, Health, HIV& AIDS, Nutrition and Child protection indicators in the cluster and ADP and take appropriate programming measures

  • Disseminate the relevant TB, Health, HIV&AIDS, Nutrition and Child protection information to the community members and relevant stakeholders for necessary action.

Engagement & Networking

  • Work with the Global fund networks, MOH, Children Department, Education and Social services for technical direction and leveraging of resources to support TB, Health, HIV&AIDS, Nutrition and Child protection interventions in the ADP and cluster.

  • Work with other NGOs, CBOs , FBOs, Units, Committees and Groups in the ADP,Cluster who are implementing TB,Health , HIV & AIDS & Nutrition and child protection interventions for synergy and achievement of bigger impact and sustainability

  • Facilitate community members to identify issues related to Health, HIV &AIDS, Nutrition& child protection and support community advocacy to enable the relevant stakeholders to take appropriate action towards the attainment of better health and protection status in the community.

  • Support and attend stakeholder’s forum related to Global fund TB, Health, HIV&AIDS, Nutrition and Child protection interventions.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

  1. A degree in Clinical Medicine, Nursing Sciences, Public health, Environmental health or their equivalent.

  2. A minimum of 2 years working experience in Health, Nutrition and HIV&AIDS projects at community level with bias to Child health ,malaria control and TB, HIV&AIDs

  3. Additional training in Community health will be an added advantage

  4. Experience in TB, HIV&AIDS prevention, Advocacy, Care and Support of OVC and PLWHIV and strong partnership with GoK ministries and Churches

  5. Good computer skills in MS office (Excel, word, PowerPoint etc)

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Based in designated field location with frequent field visits

  • Travel: Mainly domestic, with possibility of some international travel

  • On call: During emergencies
