Child Wellbeing Facilitator

Job Description

Purpose of the position:

Implement and monitor program interventions, aimed at contributing to improved child wellbeing outcomes within the ADP.

In order to perform this role effectively, the CWBF must be able to effectively communicate World Vision’s Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that serves as an example to others

Major Responsibilities

Mobilization and Implementation

  • Ensure mobilization for all programme intervention without limitation to sponsorship projects

  • Link ADP to the community, local institutions and partners at the local level for project implementation of three track ministry

  • Coordinate and mobilize community resources persons (CRPs) in the clusters to support sponsorship activities and other projects

  • Implementing contextualized Child Protection incidence preparedness plan.

  • Ensure use of participatory approaches to enable the community ownership of development initiatives

  • Mobilize community and stakeholders to participate in key national days

  • Implement the successful roll out of all sponsorship System program elements in the ADP

  • Promote child protection and support system for abused children

  • Mobilize and coordinate capacity building initiative for communities and Local partners.

  • Ensure timely communication between sponsors and RC

Design, Planning and Reporting

  • Facilitate participatory identification of local needs and resources

  • Ensure Monthly schedule for field monitoring

  • Facilitate participatory monitoring that involves Local level partners and communities

  • Ensure data collection using the standardized monitoring tools

  • Participation in the evaluation and baseline planning

  • Develop monthly field cluster and progress reports and file

  • Engage community leaders and partners in the planning of the monitoring activities.

  • Ensure RC files are maintained and updated as per WVI standards

  • Coordinate timely responses to sponsorship correspondences from their cluster(s)

  • Ensure RC within the cluster(s) participates, supported & benefit from Programme activities.

  • Support the RC inclusion mapping exercise

  • Provide timely reports on disasters happening on RC families, and community, and spearhead response

  • Participate in regular reflections on monitoring practice to make improvements as needed.

  • Document and share of best practices in the cluster

  • Collect quality child data & Sponsorship 2.0 products

  • Implement an active RC monitoring system in the cluster(s) of jurisdiction and follow up to ensure timely responses

  • Ensure a quality assurance system for the SingleSTEP processes in the cluster(s).

  • Conduct regular monitoring to ensure sponsorship standards and sponsorship Businesses processes attained.

Engagement and Networking

  • Frontline representation of WVK in key community level stakeholder forums

  • Identify community needs and communicate to the ADP for resource mobilization

  • Facilitate community members to advocate on child Well-being issues

  • Collaborate with local partners to Support for AACs to support Child protection interventions

  • Ensure all Child Protection issues are reported and adhered to within the required timelines

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

  1. Diploma in Community Development or Social Work or its equivalent

  2. Minimum of two year in local community programming within an International /National organization

  3. Computer literate

  4. Must be a resident of Nyakach (provide Chief’s letter)

  5. Ability to ride a motorbike will be an added advantage

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: field based with frequent domestic travel

  • On call: During emergency
