Community Engagement Officer
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Community Engagement unit is responsible to develop tools and guidelines for ADP staff to use at the community, to change community’s mindset that may lead to an increase engagement in development activities.
Community Engagement Office’s role is in development of resources, training WV staff, occasionally training community. CE Officer is responsible to create set of measurement to monitor the level of change in the community. This position requires 25% travel to the communities.
1. Assessment and mapping
1.1 Develop simple assessment tool to understand the level of community engagement in development program
1.2 Map the level of community engagement in each village
1.3 Map ADP staff capacity and competency in engaging community in development activities
2. Tools and Guideline
2.1 Review the LfT modules and repackage it for refresher training;
2.2 Develop training materials for VDC
2.3 In consultation with the ADP Manager, develop training schedule for community and ADP staff
2.4 Make all training materials available in English and Pasa Lao version.
3. Capacity building for staff and community
3.1 Conduct training for VDC and community leaders
3.2 Conduct training for WV staff
3.3 Guide ADP to implement micro-project (when applicable).
3.4 Ensure all staff are regularly supported in professional and personal development through direct coaching, performance management, team learning and individual learning opportunity.
3.5 Advise and collaborat
e other WV units in ways to maximize participation and development quality.
4. Development Programming Approach (DPA)
4.1 Be the champion in DPA
4.2 Focal point to discuss DPA with Regional Office
4.3 Review Technical Approach and Technical Program to ensure element of Community Engagement is included
6. Other tasks assingned by management team
