Center Supervisor

Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION

To coordinate the implementation of the project by addressing children and community needs in a sustainable manner.

1- Facilitate project’s implementation

Projects activities are implemented as per the developed action plan

  • Coordinate access to the Community Center for all Children, parents, Animators/ECE caregivers.

  • Ensure that minimum standards of the community center are respected.

  • Support animators and teachers in conducting ECE and PSS activities when needed

  • Monitor the implementation of the project action plan with the support of the animators/ ECE caregivers.

  • Supervise the Animators/ECE Caregivers in the implementation of the daily activities.

  • Coach and provide logistical support to animators/ ECE caregivers within their daily work.

  • Attend the weekly meetings with project Officer, Animators, ECE caregiver to follow up on the implementation of activities and progress of children.

  • Ensure that administrative/ logistic issues are discussed during the weekly meetings with staff

  • Ensure that children arrived to the center on time safely.

  • Ensure that the sessions are conducted on time.

  • Plan with the Animators/ ECE Caregivers cyclic meetings for parents.

  • Invite parents to the cyclic meetings and follow up on their engagement.

  • Organize social cohesion events at the end of each project cycle.

II- Ensure children’s safety and protection

Children attending the activities are protected and safe

  • Work in compliance with and respect of the principles of Child Protection and confidentiality, working with refugee and host communities with sensitivity

  • Identify key protection threats affecting the children and raise them to project manager.

  • Ensure the implementation of solution measures addressing the threats. Identify safety issues and raise to project manager and when necessary follow-up with the risk manager on the safety and security of the chosen locations

  • Identify children requiring case management and ensure safe referral to case management agencies or service providers in coordination with project Officer.

III- Handle tracking, reporting on activities and filing

Progress reports are done and submitted as per the required deadline

  • Ensure related project means of verifications (MOV) including attendance sheets, pre posttests, evaluation documents… are in place for each activity.

  • Enter related MOV into the system.

IV- Handle logistics responsibilities

All administrative and logistics matters are followed up on to ensure timely implementation of activities

  • Coordinate with the Project Officer on the list of items needed for the center to be purchased.

  • Make sure that the purchased items are in place.

  • Prepare asset list for all the center items.

  • Follow up with Bus Drivers on children transportation.

  • Arrange for meals during the Center activities.

4- Perform other duties as required

  • Responsible of own security and actively contribute to a positive security culture

  • Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager

  • Be aware of the emergency procedures in a response and ensure that necessary preparedness measures have been implemented after coordination with Project manager

  • Attend and participate in weekly reporting and planning meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care, quality PSS and referrals, and reporting requirements are followed

  • Attend and participate in local and international capacity building events as needed

  • Attend and participate in spiritual nurture events and other organizational events Perform other related tasks as required by the Project Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor degree in a social development related field, (kindergarten studies, psychology, sociology, social sciences/humanities, specialized education or social animation)

  • Experience in project implementation, monitoring and report writing.

  • Good Command of written and spoken English. Knowledge or Arabic language is an added advantage.

  • Good command of English, both written and oral.

  • Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity.

  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.

  • Ability to cope and work under pressure.

  • Computer literate mainly in Microsoft Office package.

  • Willing to travel within Lebanon with a valid driver’s license

  • Willingness to learn and ask questions

  • Well-organized, self-motivated and ability to work in a team.

  • Ability to work in difficult and high risk situations

  • Knowledge of the psychosocial guidelines and approaches related to emergency context ( MHPSS IASC guidelines, PFA principles, etc.).

  • Familiar with core principles of Children Rights, Participation, Do No Harm, Community and Family Support as well as Children in Emergencies minimum standards.

  • One year experience in a similar related job.

  • Experience in project implementation, monitoring and report writing.

  • 100% field work (Community Centers)

  • Position requires availability and willingness to work outside regular office hours occasionally.

  • Position requires willingness and ability to continue to function during a crisis situation, including during a World Vision response to a manmade or natural disaster.
