The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical support, management and coordination of Nutrition programming in West Africa Region. The WAR Nutrition Advisor will work in collaboration with WV line ministries (HEA, Communications, and Advocacy), National Offices and Support Offices to support ongoing and development of new Nutrition programs including CMAM and other nutrition approaches in West Africa.
The functions would include needs assessments, training and scaling up the implementation of Nutrition to address different forms of malnutrition, short term and ongoing technical support in the conduct of nutrition surveys, data gathering and analyses, project design, supervision, monitoring and evaluation
The position will report to the WAR RAM Director. The WAR Nutrition Advisor will also report to the respective country Directors when working on specific program assignment in their country and will be an active participant in the Health/Nutrition CoP and Emergency Nutrition Working Group and works closely with the nutrition center of expertise (NCoE) located in WV Canada.

Provide technical support to the assessment, (re) design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reflection stages of WV development nutrition approaches and nutrition responses in Community-Based management of acute malnutrition (Emergency) in both ADP and non-ADP environments
Develop and implement institutional capacity building strategies for nutrition driven by field needs, focused on outcomes.
Oversee implementation of Nutrition programs in line with the WVI Global health strategy to further the overall mission and specific Nutrition programs that meet the evolving needs and conditions in each respective country, in line with WVI’s overall Mission and Strategic Plan
Develop and maintain quality standards that are outlined in conjunction with the Global Health Centre accreditation system(s) for WV Nutrition & Health staff.
Advance WVIs work integrating Emergency nutrition with longer term development nutrition interventions (ex: PD/Hearth, IMCI, etc.) in collaboration with the other Health and Nutrition Advisors
Coordinate WVs participation in a peer network of NGOs implementing Nutrition, in collaboration with other World Vision International based Nutrition Advisors
Represent WVI as the Nutrition counterpart for country specific capacity building initiatives with WVI partners. This could include set-up, design, implementation stages, midterm and final evaluations as well as coverage surveys.
Represent WVI and/or lead the evaluation of emergency nutrition programming at regional level, assessing current models of operation for impact and effectiveness.
Coordinate and maintain nutrition programs and reports, using program experience & results to inform/revise strategy and programming. Ensure emergency nutrition program data are captures and analyzed in the WVI CMAM database and shared with stake holders
Liaise with WV entities working in the emergency sector (e.g. HEA, Food Programming Management Group (FPMG) and NCoE) for learning and information sharing.
