Accountability Coordinator

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The purpose of this position is to ensure that adequate Accountability mechanisms are rolled out and contextualized in the Humanitarian and Development programs in World Vision Lebanon. The position holder will work closely with the different Area Managers to ensure that the Accountability Mechanisms are functional and staff capacity is built in order to operationalize the accountability systems and to ensure that complaints and feedback from the communities WVL’s serves is responded to. The Accountability coordinator will work closely with the Evidence, Learning and Accountability (ELA) team for designing adequate reporting and information sharing mechanisms.

Support in designing and implementing the Accountability System

Work closely with the ELA manager in designing and rolling out the Accountability system for all World Vision Lebanon (WVL) programs (Information sharing, consultation, participation, feedback and complaint mechanism)

Support CRM administrator and Accountability Officer in ensuring that complaints and feedback are handled adequately

Coordinate with different departments to ensure complaints are handled well

Set up adequate system for internal and external referrals

Coordinate with Senior ELA coordinators in order to ensure Accountability is included in new proposals (indicators, budgeting issues, activities, etc.)

Accountability system is in place and functional in all Area Program of WVL

Complaints and feedback are handled in adequate amount of time, and feedback look is closed

Funding is available to sustain accountability structure and staff

Ensure Reporting and Networking

Compile and submit timely reports on a weekly basis and ensure coordination with ELA team members for accurate dissemination

Attend project and other NGOs meeting / training and jointly develop activity plans

Reports are submitted on time

Manage Staff Performance

Oversee the work of the Community Response mechanism (CRM) Administrator and Accountability officer ensuring that the tasks are completed properly.

Ensure optimization of subordinates potentials through coaching, on-the-job training, and capacity building

Effectively manage the performance of direct reports ensuring performance agreements, regular performance discussions, and annual appraisal are done.

Perform other duties as required

Attend and participate in capacity building trainings locally and internationally.

Attend and participate in WVL’s spiritual nurture and other organizational events.

Responsible of own security and actively contribute to a positive security culture.

Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • University degree in a field related to business administration

  • Creative and able to come up, embrace and coordinate innovative thinking, and problem solving skills

  • Good analytical and writing skills

  • Good interpersonal skills and, abilities to work as a team.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and oral and written communication skills in English.

  • Computer literacy; Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • At least one year experience in a similar job

  • Required to have minimum 2 years driving license

  • Personal Management including initiative, self-motivation and direction.

  • Ability to set priorities and undertake new tasks quickly

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences

  • Willing to work at odd hours when necessary

  • Cross cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina.
