Project Officer - Livelihood

Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Support the implementation of Livelihood projects in line with the below mentioned tasks.

Implementation

  1. Gather information on the local context, target communities, service providers, employers, other livelihood actors and local Government Entities in order to enhance coordination and explore further livelihood opportunities;

  2. Identify and target beneficiaries including managing casual workers doing the data gathering;

  3. Conduct data cleaning and entry including maintenance of the data base;

  4. Follow up on the running of the daily livelihood center activities including services providers;

  5. Conduct the market assessment in targeted villages;

  6. Hold information sessions amongst project and livelihood center staff on findings of the outreach activities;

  7. Assist the registration process;

  8. Deliver high quality, accurate and timely daily reports;

  9. File all relevant project documents in line with WV’s requirements for project auditing;

  10. Support in the donor and partner visits

  11. Support actions to address beneficiary feedback;

  12. Action protection mainstreaming standards suggested by the Project Coordinator.

All project deliverables are met within the agreed time-frame and budget in compliance with donor regulations, WV’s and international best practices;

Security management responsibilities:

  1. Abide by the security procedure, policies and take responsibility for all breaches. World Vision has zero breach tolerance;

  2. Attend all security related training and abides by all taught material;

  3. Immediately report all security related incidents to the team leader;

Other duties:

  1. Attend and participate in capacity building trainings locally and internationally as appropriate and necessary and based on funding availability

  2. Perform other relevant tasks as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor degree or any equivalent degree

  • Able to use a computer, with word-processing (e.g. Microsoft Office) and spreadsheets, internet and e-mail

  • 1-2 years' experience in NGOs

  • Experience in data gathering at household level and focus group discussions;

  • Experience managing team of casual labour

  • A valid driver’s license (more than 1 year old);

  • Good level of English and Arabic (oral and written);
