Purpose of the position:Is to provide technical support to the HHN Program with a focus on improved access to Health, HIV/AIDS and Nutrition Practices. The position is responsible for profiling World Vision Lesotho in all relevant sector networks and technical working groups at cluster level. The incumbent is the primary technical contact for the AP in matters relating to the HHN Program at cluster level.

Lead, Manage and facilitate the participation of all stakeholders in the AP in coordination with other TPs coordinators, communities, and children in the execution of the AP Plan, while building within them the culture of learning and responsibility for project's sustainability.

Major Responsibilities:


Program Management and Reporting

  1. Coordinate the HHN Technical Program to be implemented in the cluster to realize the National Office Strategy.

  2. Coordinate a collaborative design process drawing in WV stakeholders and major external stakeholders and partners within the cluster.

  3. Support Technical Programme design and participate in AP planning that fit with the DPA to build ownership and sustainable results.

  4. Support in the drafting and implementation of DIPs within and outside the AP, to ensure timely and successful implementation of projects.

  5. Coordinate and support the implementation of AP HHN activities and ensure enforcement of HHN sector standards (in line with Global,and Regional HHN Standards)to be adhered to by implementing staff and partners.

  6. Ensure utilization of the tools, models and protocols to aid in program implementation at Region and AP level.

  7. Produce consolidated annual/semi-annual/monthly AP report for the Technical Program (TP).

  8. Work with the Regional Manager, Regional DM&E and other Technical Coordinators, in the implementation of the HHN Technical Program.

  9. Manage Cluster AP HHN Technical budget andensure adherence to operational budgetary limits.

  10. Conduct continuous monitoring to ensure planned activities are being implemented on budget, time and at recommended industry standards.

    Program Development and Grants Acquisition

  11. Support the TP Manager and Grants Resource Mobilization Office in ensuring that the HHN Grants Projects are adequately funded.

    Networking, Liaison and Advocacy

  12. Take a lead in establishing and sustaining effective strategic partnerships, networks, engagement, and liaison with key Stakeholders/Partners (existing and potential) at District and Community level in furthering the business of WV, in an effort to profile the organizations work, through the AP with more emphasis on advancing the economic development and food security program across the two APs.

  13. Support the Sponsorship, Advocacy and Justice for Children Manager, Child Protection Coordinator and Christian Commitment Coordinator to advocate and mobilize stakeholders for the enactment or repeal/review of policies, necessary for improved access to Economic Development and food security Practices.

    People Management and Capacity Building;

  14. Provide administrative oversight and supervision to the AP team on all accountability issues, including behavior, performance, and stewardship.

  15. Maintain a healthy, motivated, committed and effective AP team, underscored by sustainable good relationships, transparent and effective conflict management mechanisms, smooth communication flow and a team spirit.

  16. Provide continuous coaching, mentoring and capacity building to Communities and other relevant stakeholdersin the Economic Development and food security Program.

  17. Support in the construction and review of Performance Agreements and Annual Appraisals for AP staff.

  18. Ensure ongoing staff capacity building

    Learning and Innovation

  19. Generate, document, and disseminate lessons learned and good practices from the implementation of HHN Technical Program within the APs for program effectiveness.

  20. Responsible for creating innovative ideas and solutions in advancing the business objectives of the AP.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Minimum Qualification and experience required: Degree in General nursing and or midwifery or other related fieldwith 5 years International Non Governmental Organization work experience.

  • Preferred:

  • A minimum of three years proven experience and skill in management of HHN projects design and implementation.

  • Leadership and Team Work abilities.

  • Project Management and design experience, as well as project implementation and monitoring & evaluation

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, demonstrated leadership and good management ability

  • English communication skills (oral and written)

  • Strong detail orientation and negotiation skills

  • Computer literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Experience in working with various major donors and government donor agencies

  • Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview emotional maturity

  • Capacity to function well in a team and contribute effectively to team efforts

  • Proven networking abilities at local and international levels

  • Ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts, psycho-logically stressful environments and physical hardship conditions with limited resources

  • Commitment and ability to inspire others to World Vision Core Values, Vision and Mission Statement.
