Behavioral Change and Communications Coordinator
Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, the BCC Coordinator will manage Citizen Voice and Action activities within Global fund grant at the national office. This position will support development facilitators to plan, train and follow up Health Surveillance Assistants and CLANs to empower citizens’ especially the most the vulnerable and excluded communities, children and women, through an inclusive social mobilization approach on Malaria related issues. S/he will assist Global fund CoP to implement and report on CVA activities to Senior Leadership team, Malawi Global Fund Country Coordinating Mechanism (MGCCM) and the Malawi Country team.
Team-management, capacity-building, orientation and mentoring of staff on development, coordination and implementation of interventions applying inclusive social mobilization and CVA approaches.
Ensure strong coordination between projects staff, support departments and technical support staff in area and at the National office.
Set strategic vision, operationalize and coordinate CVA approach at the local level and to ensure its alignment with WV country as well as national advocacy strategies.
Take lead in developing the area strategy in the context of area-specific child well-being outcomes and community identified priority issues and solutions
As per WV policies and management’s guidelines, coordinate implementation of the program and day-to-day running by providing conceptual, technical & administrative support to team and spending time in the field.
Provide timely updates to line Managers on the ongoing project/initiatives for informed and effective decision-making.
Ensure technical support and management oversight in preparation of key documents (for example, detailed implementation plans, log-frames, M&E plans, monthly and quarterly reports)
Liaise and collaborate with other internal sections to ensure smooth functioning of system/policies.
Support identification, formation and strengthening partnerships with like-minded stakeholders to achieve the project-specific and broader objectives of Global fund program.
Liaise and coordinate with govt. and other key stakeholders to build rapport, working relationship, information exchange in order to mobilize their support and collaborative actions around the project.
Actively contribute to decision-making process within PMU by way of exchanging information, collecting data and info from other stakeholders and ensuring that all appropriate channels of communications are feeding into the process.
Ensure capacity-building of project teams, government line departments, communities, and other stakeholders on CVA approaches
Develop monitoring plan in close collaboration with the Programme Manager and ensuring adherence to implementation plans, high quality project management and timely implementation
Ensure progress and relevant issues are highlighted with WV’s management and that timely decision-making in carried out to facilitate smooth-running of the projects/ Programmes
Facilitate DM&E Officer to develop M&E plans and systems, assist in assessments, Base line surveys and KAPB studies and developing tools for these exercises.
Ensure the information and reports are adequately managed and maintained in appropriate manner and retrievable.
Minimum Qualifications, experience and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences especially development studies, anthropology, sociology, social work, or other related social sciences subjects
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in advocacy related programmes
Have strong conceptual understanding and experience of applying social inclusion approaches through social mobilization and CVA.
Knowledge and experience in monitoring and evaluation activities, preferably with the social sector.
Skills and experience in Programme/project Management with a key focus on sustainability and linkages development.
