JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Field Officer (4) - Tenable in Mangochi

Purpose of the position:

Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Field Officer will be responsible for field level implementation, coordination and facilitation of the Adolescent Girls and Young Women project activities in Mangochi. The overall objective of the project is to provide girls and young women aged 15 to 24 with opportunities to improve their livelihood, while preventing and mitigating HIV/AIDS.

Major Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, organization/ facilitation and implementation of the project activities at district levels

  • Maintain programmatic accountability for program activities including data collection for evaluation, record keeping of activities, and the completion of all necessary quarterly progress and year-end reporting

  • Establish, coordinate and integrate databases and develop information systems.

  • Facilitate efficient and timely implementation of planned activities by all relevant committees,

  • district and community partners to ensure the right techniques, methodologies and standards are employed

  • Work closely with the government partners and schools to establish to increase literacy levels.

  • Distribute IEC materials and facilitate training programs to ensure quality technical messages on various models reaching all the target beneficiaries

  • Assist in designing and implementing innovative adolescent girls and young women activities

  • Any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Prerequisite:

  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree related to Education, Public Health or Project Management

  • Minimum of one year experience in related area.

  • Excellent facilitation skills

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Fluent in English

  • Good understanding of cross-cultural issues.

  • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Knowledge of rural/community development

  • Good interpersonal and facilitation skills

  • Experience in Gender , life skills education and Sexual reproductive health issues will be an added advantage
