PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To provide driving services to officers in order to enhance the program in transport services.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Utilize vehicles for World Vision projects or general office related matters as assigned

  • Drive responsibly, following traffic directions and respecting established speed limits and any other internal regulations for the use of vehicles

  • Maintain daily logbooks which include: kilometers driven each day, party driven or task assignment, any irregularities or damage to vehicle, any maintenance carried out on the vehicle

  • Report any accident or incident within 24 hours to the immediate supervisor and the Fleet and Security Coordinator

  • Provide the log books on daily basis to the Administrative Officer and the Senior Driver so a database is kept for the vehicle/fuel usage charges

  • Driving project staff including visitors

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance of vehicles by carrying out general maintenance including cleaning, tyre pressure, brake fluid, radiator, oil check, fuel supply, and spare tyre

  • Provide vehicle performance report for each service and highlight any potential problem that has not been dealt with in the current service

  • Perform any other work that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor including participating in project works.

Minimum Qualifications, experience and Competencies

  • MSCE Certificate

  • Minimum five years of experience in a similar position.

  • A relevant clean Driving License

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Chichewa (oral and written).

  • Experience in driving high profile delegates

  • Have a good working relationship with the team.

  • Eager to learn and work without supervision in harsh environments

  • Exposure in community development work.
