Position : Senior Driver
Purpose of Position
To coordinate transport services and ensure smooth, efficient and safe use of vehicles. The role will be responsible for planning vehicle allocation and worthiness.
Maintain and secure work tools for the Drivers at the NO
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility of vehicle.
Coordinate with suppliers and request vehicle parts when needed.
Ensure that all vehicles have logbooks
Ensure that routine maintenance records are observed
Ensure all WV vehicles have a regular service schedule.
Coordinate with other garages on jobs that cannot be done in our workshop eg. Panel beating
Schedule program for Drivers
Facilitate staff travel
Compile and update the list of vehicles at the NO for insurance processing
Support the compilation of accident reports.
Support the processing of insurance claims
Provide monthly, quarterly and annual reports on National Office vehicle performance
Ensure that vehicles at the NO are kept clean
Ensure that all vehicles are equipped with essential tools
Compile Leave Schedule for all Drivers at the NO

Knowledge Skills and Responsibilities
Malawi School Certificate of Examination
Grade One in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or City and Guilds part 2
At least 5 years of professional driving experience with 3 years’ experience at supervisory level
Demonstrated experience in motor vehicle maintenance scheduling and transport allocation
Ability to produce basic reports
Clean and valid driving license
Defensive driving certificate
Experience in driving 4X4 vehicles
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Computer literacy in th use of word, excel and Lotus Notes/Microsoft Outlook
Certificate in Transport and Logistics
