JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Gender and Disability Coordinator
Purpose of Position
To provide technical leadership and management in the design, planning and implementation of gender and disability inclusive programming and advocacy. The role shall coordinate, network and collaborate with relevant stakeholders on gender and disability at the national level.
Major Responsibilities
Planning
Provide Technical Support in Gender and disability mainstreaming in programming and advocacy.
Capacity Building
Provide Capacity Development Support for Gender and disability mainstreaming in Programming, advocacy and organizational processes
Networking and Collaboration
Networking and Partnering with relevant stakeholders
Monitoring and Evaluation
Support the Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting on Gender and disability Mainstreaming in Programming
Analyse gender and disability trends and develop strategies to address them in collaboration with key stakeholders and national technical specialists
Policy influencing
Compile and disseminate gender and advocacy messages for policy influencing.
Identifying policy gaps and inconsistencies in the polices and providing recommendations
Fundraising and programme development
Support GAM in fundraising for gender and disability
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences, humanities or equivalent qualification
At least 5 years of experience in gender and disability programming.
Knowledge and experience of implementing participatory gender and disability methodologies.
Experience in developing policies and strategies.
Previous experience in gender and disability programming in Government and NGOs
Ability to network and collaborate with other stakeholders
Ability to provide leadership and take responsibility for incorporating gender and disability perspectives into programming.
Excellent facilitation skills and experience in developing training modules.
Post graduate qualification in social inclusion.
Excellent communication and team-working skills, with the ability to build good relations, both within WV and externally.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and good computer skills.
Ability to work in a multicultural environment with respect for diversity.
Fluency in spoken and written English.
