District Project Officer - Global Fund Grant

International Role - No - Only National applicants will be considered.

Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, the District Project Officer will work in a matrix relationship with the District Program Manager and the Health Technical Program Coordinator. S/he is responsible for oversight and implementation of the mass campaign, BCC activities and HAS mentoring and supervision, including providing updates on overall progress of the project and directly accountable for the mass campaign at district level. S/he will form part of the district taskforce and will also be responsible for liaising and communicating with the DEC, the DHMT other partners and local leadership.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead implementing of mass campaign activities at both district and community level.

  • Represent World Vision Malawi at district task force meeting for mass campaign

  • Coordinate household registration and distribution of nets.

  • Coordinate management of district warehouses and transportation of nets to distribution points in the district.

  • Jointly with the Logistics Coordinator performance manage the work of Warehouse Supervisor

  • Coordinate district based trainings and orientations.

  • Coordinate payments of per-diems for participant involved in the mass campaign activities

  • Facilitate and support all BCC activities as stipulated in the BCC strategy

  • Produce quality reports as scheduled

Minimum Qualifications, experience and Competencies

  • Degree in Health, Public Health or its equivalent field

  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities

  • Three years’ experience in project management at the district and community level

  • Proven experience of working with the Ministry of Health, or any Health Institution is an added advantage

  • Very good community moblisation and engagement skills

  • Good communication, interpersonal skills and willingness to learn

  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, power point and email

  • Very Strong report writing skills and experience

  • A Self-starter with the ability to work under minimum supervision
