SENIOR PROGRAM OFFICER – GRANTS AND ACQUISITION MANAGEMENT

Purpose of the position

Under the direction of the Grant Acquisition and Management Director, the Senior Program Officer Grants and Acquisition Management will provide leadership in identifying and acquiring grants and private non sponsorship funding. The position is also responsible for establishing and sustaining relations with diverse donors and building the capacity of local staff in the area of proposal writing, program designing and donor relations.

Minimum qualification and experience required

  1. Masters in development studies, international development or social sciences.

  2. 5 years demonstrated experience in successful project design, proposal writing, funding acquisitions and donor relations.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of multi sectoral proposal development

  • Demonstrated knowledge of donor specific priorities, standards and processes

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

  • Competent use of Microsoft office programmes

  • Strong influencing and networking skills
