DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR- WASH ( NGODZI AREA PROGRAM)
Purpose of the position:
The position works closely with communities in transforming their lives, through hands on mobilization and facilitation of communities in the implementation of M-WASH projects in the Area Program in contributing to the attainment of child wellbeing aspirations.
Responsible for the implementation of the M-WASH plans that seeks to strengthen water and sanitation structures, systems, policies and practices for the well-being of communities in the area programme as per the set National M-WASH standards and operating guidelines.
Promote good hygiene practices among the community members in collaboration with government sub-structures, community stakeholders and volunteers.
Liaise with beneficiary community and local authorities in the selection of project sites as per requirement of the project design to construct borehole sites.
Develop design plans, working drawings, technical specifications, bill of quantities as per approved standards by the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and the Ministry for all construction works outlined on the project design for the said project using AutoCAD or similar drafting computer software in the area programme.
Participate in the review, evaluation and audit of M-WASH in the area programme.
Design, supervise and certify construction of water and public health facilities, institutional Latrines and community water filters through liaison with relevant government ministry’s technical department and the user community as outlined in the project documents.
Participate in identification of community project needs and budget preparations through demand driven approach.
Facilitate capacity building and training of the water management committees, community leaders, and beneficiaries of Water Hygiene and Sanitation projects, with the view to promote participation and ownership of project activities by concerned staff and stakeholders.
Integrate sponsorship in M-WASH project in the PFA to ensure that child well-being outcomes are realized in line with WV child sponsorship standards.
Responsible for monitoring Registered Children (RC’s) impacted by the project in the program area.
Prepare and submit monthly management/monitoring reports using set formats.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following knowledge, skills and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, and prior experience or on-job training:
Education: Minimum qualification : Degree in Environmental Health or related field
Experience: Minimum of one year experience in related area.
Knowledge and technical skills

Fluent in English

Working Environment / Conditions:
Work environment: spending 80 % of his/her time in the field and 20% at the PFA
